Tens of thousands of Virginians have had their voting rights restored thanks to a move from Gov. Abigail Spanberger. Spanberger announced that her office has restored voting rights for more than 66,000 people who have served their punishments after being charged with crimes.

BIG DEAL on voting rights this morning: Governor Spanberger just restored the voting rights of some 60,000+ Virginians. Her move reverses Youngkin's abrupt decision in 2023 to end automatic voting rights restoration, which brought Virginia back to a system of default lifetime disenfranchisement.

If I had a nickel for every time this week that a Senate nominee named Graham ended their campaign, for one reason or another, and was likely to be replaced by a loser of their state's primary for governor, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's interesting that it happened twice.

I was wrong about Graham Platner. I defended him too quickly, dismissed real concerns, and owe an apology to everyone who called me out for it. Platner needs to drop out like Swalwell did and run a honest electable candidate who can win.
