I'm not done yet though. Still got four more achievements! ... what the heck is an "FBC Task" and how did I not do a single one in 50 hours? 140

Alex M @alex.debonairbear.ca · 29/09/2026Once I saw a screenshot for Gears 2 and mistook one of the new guys for a big burly butch woman. I thought it was super cool to have a lady that could be as big as the guys. But when the game was released I realized my mistake and ever since I've been sort of disappointed in those games. 030
Alex M @alex.debonairbear.ca · 28/09/2026If I showed my game in its current state to myself when I first started making it I'd be like "What the fuck?! How it turn in to THAT?!" And it wouldn't be a bad reaction. It would just be confusion. 010
Alex M @alex.debonairbear.ca · 28/09/2026Most people DO figure it out, but every once and a while someone ... just ... doesn't, and then figures the game is broken?? Maybe they can't be helped. Also there *IS* a playtest you can sign up for on Steam right now if you wanna check it out yourself! Demo out next month! 010
Alex M @alex.debonairbear.ca · 28/09/2026Some spikes wont damage a player until they move/jump, which I felt was a bug I should fix, but maybe I can make it intentional. Hmmmm. 110
Alex M @alex.debonairbear.ca · 28/09/2026A good majority of the new players I've seen assume spikes mean instant death - which is something I'm opposed to doing. Bouncing them to a safe spot might work in some areas, but not in others with much larger fields of spikes. 110
Alex M @alex.debonairbear.ca · 28/09/2026It wouldn't be THAT much work, and in some areas it wouldn't be a problem, but in areas that have literal fields of spikes I feel like that would look a bit odd. 010
Alex M @alex.debonairbear.ca · 28/09/2026The player character has an invincibility period after taking damage where the model is flashing for a few seconds before they can take damage again. I had hoped that would be enough of an explanation that they're still going, but it continues to confuse new players. Not sure what to do about it. 300
Alex M @alex.debonairbear.ca · 28/09/2026With Spike Damage many people assume that once they've fallen in they are just dead - or expect to be warped out of it. Most eventually learn that they gotta get out of there, but some are like "Oh the game is bugged, I should be respawned" and just stay in the spikes until death - multiple times. 100
Alex M @alex.debonairbear.ca · 28/09/2026I have a curious problem in my game's environment damage. Fire Damage - You have a second to get out of it before you take damage Void Damage - You fall in to a void, take damage and then warped to a checkpoint Spike Damage - You fall on spikes take damage and must get out before it damages again 100

Alex M @alex.debonairbear.ca · 26/09/2026For the record, there WERE bugs, but none where I had to go "Oh sorry, let me just-" and then take control from my side of the table. The only things I did was return players to the main menu if someone stopped playing before getting a game over (rare). 030

Alex M @alex.debonairbear.ca · 25/09/2026The hard bevel on the bottom of the handles feels bad on the palms of my hands too. Not a fan. I'll be switching back to the Xbox controller for the rest of the run. Haptic rumble is cool and all, but certainly not worth it. 010
Alex M @alex.debonairbear.ca · 25/09/2026One point against it is that in five hours I haven't seen any references to Finland or Finnish culture. Control and Alan Wake 2 were super Finnish so I hope they get back to it soon. 000
Alex M @alex.debonairbear.ca · 25/09/2026Just like the first Control though, it too is showing me the age of my computer. I've also been using my new PS5 controller, and I'll be honest gang - that thing feels bad in my hands. Maybe my massive mitts are just too much for that thing, but all the angles feel wrong. 220
Alex M @alex.debonairbear.ca · 25/09/2026Control Resonant takes a little bit to get rolling, but when it does it shines. It's a very different game than the first Control, not just with being melee over shooting, but in vibes and style - which is super cool in my books! I always appreciate it when a sequel has the guts to change it up. 120
