Regardless of views on domestic policy, at a time that the US president is so unpredictable and unreliable Starmer will have to use all his experience as the UK’s top prosecutor to maintain any form of working relationship. I think he’s better placed than the last few PMs but it’ll be hard.

Erandio is a ridiculously good ground, an absolute must visit for anyone going to Bilbao. The Nuevo Ategorri (“Red Door”) is actually 100 years old later this year. The superb clubhouse is absolutely steeped in history, some pennants so old they are made of leather!

I was delighted to welcome the Environment Secretary, Steve Reed MP, to Ipswich today. Our Tidal Barrier protects thousands of homes and hundreds of businesses, so it was an apt setting for the Government's announcement of a record £2.65 billion investment into flood defences.
