Learned a horrifying fact about the new "work requirements" to receive medicaid in California - if one loses coverage due to NOT meeting the work requirements, one is also INELIGIBLE for Covered California, the low cost insurance option for folks who aren't quite poor enough for Medicaid! SO CRUEL!

Stuff is getting Done, although in a very stilted, "I am easily distracted" manner. I need to get into the pre-pre-move mindset of every little item in the house I look at, if I don't immediately know what to do with it or why it is there, toss it. Decluttering will be good. Sell. Donate. Throw away

Completely had it with Chelsea & her creating issues where there needn't be any with Kat. She attacks Kat, won't listen to what Kat says, & THEN accuses Kat of sounding "defensive," when, yeah, she is defending herself from accusations! They HAD been closest friends, WTF happened? #BeyondTheGates

Grrr! This "forgive your abusers" bs pisses me off so much! It's essentially saying what they did was OK, & giving them permission to do it again! My F*head neighbor has been using the whole "women just won't let things go" as the latest excuse to be hateful, abusive & misogynist, & it is horrible.

So far, today has been pretty great! I felt healthy, & Stuff Got Done. AND...I won Bootstalk Autumn 2026! I'd been watching them for weeks, and they went on 50% off sale, so I knew if I didn't jump I'd miss them. Probably shouldn't have spent the money, but sometimes one has to. Boots make me happy.

There are millions and millions of people in the US with long covid, and it will continue to be that many or larger as the damage from repeat infections continues to rack up. While I appreciate the sentiment here, minimizing is minimizing and has to be called out. “Unlucky few” is absurd.

I have amazingly great news in that the cancer screening tests I took last week came back negative! Hooray! Whew! So I'm done with that as long as the oncology follow-up in December is all good! Probably no tests then, just a check in exam. And again, THIS is why Planned Parenthood is so important!

Spouse's business license was finally approved today, so tomorrow making surprise trip to SF for them to open a business account. Then when we get home they will launch the website. I dunno. Back in the 80s they stopped AquaNet pretty much overnight, and got much of the ozone layer back. I am fairly certain that prior to that, there was practically no ozone layer left above Club Lingerie in Hollywood.

We dragged ourselves out of the house and went to the local Greek Food Festival. It was a nice little walk, and we had some of the best Tzatziki dip I have ever tasted. May go back tomorrow for a container to bring home Now going to have some tea, perhaps a little snooze before evening cat stuff.

Big follow-up appointment with bit doctor specialist today. I feel fairly confident about it since the oncology f/u went well three months ago. But I don't want to be over-confident and get surprised by anything. Afterwards we're supposed to shave a couple of cats. Whee.

Tangerine still hasn't come out of the bathroom, even though I left the door open for her. She likes her comfy box, her own food dish & litter pan. I suspect she is perhaps happy to have the time and space away from her kittens. She still hisses when I pet her, but she allows it.

It is Day 2 post Covid Vaccine. Yesterday I felt a little achy and had a severe headache. Today I woke up extremely dizzy, a little nauseous, and completely fatigued. The dizziness has mostly passed but my head feels thick. Basically feel like crap, Am I dying or is this a normal reaction?

So this afternoon post my covid shot yesterday, I have a godawful headache across my forehead and down the back of my neck. Also, BOTH arms are achy, and just after noon I got so, so tired. Hopefully this means the shot is doing its job and not that I'm dying.

Just returned home from taking an almost totally feral cat to the vet for infection treatment. There was hissing, growling, peeing, a towel wrap, long padded gloves and eventually a net! Vet wasn't able to do a real exam but gave her an antibiotic shot, so I hope that will help. Heal up, Tangerine!

I just decided, watching the interactions between my two elder male cats, SunnySunny & Mister Mayhem, that they are the Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart of the cat world. Or possibly David Tennent & Michael Sheen. They have that kind of energy together. It's cute.

Because my life is just nonstop stress and anxiety already, today is also my first appointment with a GI specialist, and gotta say, I do not feel hopeful about it. Pretty sure at this point that 90% of my gut upheaval is due to stress and anxiety. Certainly triggered by it.

Situation with MAGA neighbor blew up in an ugly way last night. Now spouse & friends are urging us to move. More, I found out spouse REALLY hates it here. This was a surprise b/c they have friends & connections here. I hate it here too but the thought of selling the house & moving overwhelms me.
