How do the CDs inside a cabinet with closed doors get dusty? (Asked after spending much too long wiping dust off a bunch of old CDs that were inside a closed cabinet.) Yes, I still have CDs. And DVDs. I like my physical media, even if it does end up covered in dust & sometimes a bit of cat vomit.

Typical. Have to go to SF today and am also having, after a couple of blessedly pain-free or low pain weeks, a pain flare. I know it is partially due to the stress of having to go in, plus others stressors, but still. OTOH, since I am there, will pick up comics, so that's a happy thing!

Learned a horrifying fact about the new "work requirements" to receive medicaid in California - if one loses coverage due to NOT meeting the work requirements, one is also INELIGIBLE for Covered California, the low cost insurance option for folks who aren't quite poor enough for Medicaid! SO CRUEL!

I need to get into the pre-pre-move mindset of every little item in the house I look at, if I don't immediately know what to do with it or why it is there, toss it. Decluttering will be good. Sell. So far, today has been pretty great! I felt healthy, & Stuff Got Done. AND...I won Bootstalk Autumn 2026! I'd been watching them for weeks, and they went on 50% off sale, so I knew if I didn't jump I'd miss them. Probably shouldn't have spent the money, but sometimes one has to. Boots make me happy.

There are millions and millions of people in the US with long covid, and it will continue to be that many or larger as the damage from repeat infections continues to rack up. While I appreciate the sentiment here, minimizing is minimizing and has to be called out. “Unlucky few” is absurd.

Planned Parenthood are much more than birth control! It was they who noticed something very wrong when I went in for what I assumed was a simple infection. So I received a referral to an oncologist & got treatment early. They also provide gender affirming care, dv support, & more. They are crucial!

I have amazingly great news in that the cancer screening tests I took last week came back negative! Hooray! Whew! So I'm done with that as long as the oncology follow-up in December is all good! Probably no tests then, just a check in exam. And again, THIS is why Planned Parenthood is so important!

It is crucial they do that! One of the professional industrial strength ones. Building needs to cover remediation for drying things out and mold/mildew abatement before it forms, as well as damage that occurred during the drip! Best wishes!

I always check old emails to confirm it is from someone I know before opening, or I hover over the sender to confirm the address it's *really* from. And that these are from actual friends/associates is so very creepy & alarming. Because they aren't.

What I have been doing is forwarding the info to the person it claims to be from, with a note warning them they were hacked. I don't know if it is effective as I haven't heard back from anyone I've alerted that way. But they've mostly been from folks I haven't heard from in years, another red flag.

What makes it insidious is that it actually appears to come from a legitimate email of the person it claims to be from. They aren't. DO NOT OPEN the link
