We never received our postal votes on time in Denmark. In fact fornøje last GE they came 2 weeks after the vote. So basically, I have no voice in how any country is run. Complete disenfranchisement. Why can’t we vote at the Embassy?

Iceland is not in the EU, but it is a member of the Schengen area. It’s also a member of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) and is part of the Single Market, meaning it enjoys freedom of movement with the EU. Good to know that doesn’t impact their independence. Maybe we should try it, Nige.

The Geographer 1669, by Johannes Vermeer, Dutch artist, lived & worked in Delft 1632-1675. Morning light reveals geographer deep in study; the wall chart by Blaeu, terrestrial globe by Hondius the Elder, oriental table rug & silk robe suggest new worlds of discovery & trade. ALT Städel Museum
The figure of the geographer is thought to be based on the acclaimed Dutch scientist, microscopist Antonie van Leeuwenhoek, a contemporary of Vermeer, who lived and worked in Delft, recording his observations (bacteria & spermatozoa). 
Now known as ‘the father of microbiology’, he was elected to The Royal Society in 1680.
