The article is about my mom, Shelley Vincent. It ran 16 days before her hearing. It reports that she charged Frank Rogers, owner of Front Street Deli, with sexua
l harassment for calling her unborn child (me) a "little b*stard" and telling her to get an abortion.

A Maine Human Rights Commission investigator found reasonable grounds that unlawful discrimination occurred. He reported that Rogers admitted asking whether she'd considered an abortion, telling her his taxes would pay for her pregnancy and she hadn't made enough in taxes to cover it, and regularly greeting her at work with slurs about her unborn baby (me).

She'd worked there since April 1990. She reported she came back from maternity leave in December 1992, less than a month after I was born, got a written warning that same month, and was fired on March 27, 1993.

The investigator at the time suggested it was not illegal, and was performance-based. However, my mother DID win her hearing in April meaning yes, Frank did fire her illegally.

My neighbours will never appreciate the effort I make for Showeraoke. Going from Electric Lizards to Rasputin right into Hallelujah then drifting to Goodbye Horses takes an immense amount of lyrical, physical and mental dexterity. The dance change ups alone are exhausting.

This is why it sucks when social media platforms change, either gradually or full-tilt into evil. Mostly, there are no good alternatives. "Good" meaning a place where we can reliably host and post and attract an audience. People scoff at folks for being on meta, but… there's no "good" alternative.

As much as I am enjoying it I think my biggest issues with AC8 online is the lack of variety as it currently exists and the underwhelming feedback loop from playing it. It never feels like any real progression is being made.

One thing I have learned over my too many years interacting with people remotely is, send a voice message or do the sarcasm on a call because written sarcasm inflection is hard to parse. Also have an email disclaimer that tells people you're a dickhead and are probably being sarcastic.
