The number of replies saying "Um, Bluesky is coded with AI" that don't seem to get the distinction between "AI bullshit we're forced to put up with by social obligations," and "AI bullshit we can freely opt out of" is pretty telling. Bluesky is the least bad of the available options. That's all.

it really sucks, i just wish at the very least more of them would disclose it more openly. not everyone actually reads the code (if its even provided at all). i actually suggested adding a disclosure on the Current Thing; one of the devs seemed to like the idea, the other not so much.

not a bad idea! although I would probably say why not both? A label on the sign-on field would definitely be appreciated by a lot of people, as would automatic opt-outs via that lexicon.

It's the same idea behind a candy bar having a label saying "may contain nuts." most people might not care, but the people who do will appreciate the effort instead of being forced to read the ingredient label.

I understand that, but remember that most users are never going to look at the code. I understand that a large number of people use and rely on ai tools daily, but some people have ethical issues with that, and it's always better to disclose it, just to be safe.
