Pay equity is pushed so far back, it's in the dark ages again. Organisations can not function without the input of female staff. How is this pay less for more meant to work? No. It's not being done by men who have wives, sisters and daughters. It's the arseholes sitting around a boardroom.

ACT leader David Seymour says he wants to see more billionaires in New Zealand, after the issue was raised in last night's leaders debate.

"It's morally acceptable to be a billionaire if you have not broken any rules and you have voluntarily exchanged value for value with the other people that you're doing business with," Seymour told media.

He pointed to companies like Xero and Rocket Lab.

"If people value it so much they want to pay that person a billion dollars over time, then what moral rule has been broken?" he said.

Seymour said creating businesses was the only way to generate the wealth needed to fund the promises other parties were making to voters.

He criticised the Greens' policy to tax the "super rich", saying it sent the message that people's problems were caused by someone else's success."
