Interesting article--supports my own findings about the Nigerian origins of most book club and other AI email scams, and also the targeting of Western writers by scammers in other countries, particularly Pakistan and the Philippines. www.thedial.world/articles/new...

I've been overthinking social media, bc I have a bunch of projects that require a lot of brainpower so that intensity is spilling over. So I'm gonna just post a few things off the cuff whenever I think to The first post I wrote on my new blog is about deciding to do something you love for money

Been working on kind of a Frankenscene so I *think* this is the last line I actually added. The human is learning the truth about the vampires.... "And can you change into bats too?" Nina shook her head vigorously. "Oh no. Not all of us. Only Aurora."

When I started going public with my writing, I decided to use a pen name. For various mostly marketing related reasons, I've decided to abandon that. All my writing & editing will be done under my real name moving forward: Aiko Akers My handles might change, but I'm still me!

hey it's exactly one month until the release of my queer cozy horror THE LORD OF THE WOOD, soooooooo ask me anything? (trope map with additions by @vriccithode.bsky.social hehe) #ama

E.M. Anderson's The Lord of the Wood on a dark blue background with gold leaves at the top, surrounded by text in yellow (from E) and blue (from Ness) reading (yellow) "plant magic; sentient forest trying to oops! murder people; intensely homoerotic shaving scene; the one who heard the stories and the one who was in the stories; wound-tending; LI turning slowly into a beast; dual-POV brother/sister; Beauty & the Beast-inspired but not a retelling; hopeless romantic who's clueless about his own sexuality" and (blue) "secret lesbians!!!!!; there's only one bed; knife lesbian!!!!!; forced proximity times two; 'long COVID' rep." The Lord of the Wood's cover is blue, paler in the center, darker at the edges, with a central image of a stag of foliage and flowers growing from a tree whose upper branches drip black ooze and the tagline, "Even a beastly woodland protector needs saving..."

People are confusing calling elections with certifying elections. A call is a *media* practice using statistics to project a winner based on an incomplete vote count. The count doesn't stop. Only once every vote is tallied is the election certified and the results final 1/3

To be constructive, if you need text chunked text (i.e. broken into small pieces), there are masking tools that let you only show small parts of the text. You can also use a piece of paper to cover part of the page as you go. Reading while listening to an audiobook helps make prose more accessible

120

Aiko Akers, Dreamland Editing @aiko-akers-edits.bsky.social · 11/06/2026

Accessibility does not mean all people can access all things at the same level. It means there should exist things that you can access, and if this is your access need for books, then good news there's already more in existence than you could read in 1000 lifetimes!
