I regret to inform myself that I have come up with a great idea for a 10+ hour video. I hope to have it done by the end of the year. Gotta finish my Campaign Evolved video and a couple others first though.

All the uncut gameplay footage and audio for my upcoming video added up to 38 gigabytes, not including the 3 gigabyte video itself. Good to have that space back on my computer now that it's done.

Here's the intro for Tuesday's Halo 2 video. The full video is 40 minutes. youtu.be/-cSKwpXJiNk?...

Hmmm, long videos take a long time to render

Derek Prime @derekpr1m3.bsky.social · 17/08/2026

My Halo 2 video seems like it's on track to be longer than my other 3 Halo videos put together. Once I'm done cutting the audio down it's going to take a while to add visuals.

The engineering group behind the space tether on the Halo 3 map orbital was founded 5 years ago in 2021. For the next event on the Halo timeline we'll need to wait 44 years for the Covenant to put the Covenant corvette, Ardent Prayer, from Reach into service.

Is there a lore reason why Cortana says that there's only one more longsword docked despite the fact that there are clearly a few more on the upper level? Is she a dumb AI?

011

Derek Prime @derekpr1m3.bsky.social · 29/07/2026

I appreciate Halo Studios and my slow internet for making sure that this update takes over an hour to load so that I have time to edit videos

It's funny that they doubled down on the date on Jenkins's helmet cam being wrong. Bro just canonically refuses to care what day it is.

000

Derek Prime @derekpr1m3.bsky.social · 29/07/2026

Why yes Halo, I did want a checkpoint most of the way through Assault on the Control Room where my shields are being stripped and I'm getting chased by the most aggro camo elites in the galaxy. How did you know?

Derek Prime @derekpr1m3.bsky.social · 29/07/2026

I'm currently replaying some of the early missions to look at skybox details before bed. Looks like there was a nearby supernova before the events of Campaign Evolved. I'll need to include this in my video on the game's astronomy after I catch up on the rest of the games.

Wow it is way easier to jump to the bottom of The Silent Cartographer now

The warthog really isn't as fun to drive now that it controls like a tank and gets EMPed every 5 seconds

010

Derek Prime @derekpr1m3.bsky.social · 29/07/2026

Some parts inside the Truth and Rec feel like they were balanced more for Spartan Ops than campaign on legendary. But they did let me finish the mission without Keyes, so I guess those issues kinda cancel out.

Whoever suggested the one-hit-kill plasma pistol overcharge should be fired. The point is that it's supposed to remove your shields, not erase you from existence.

010

Derek Prime @derekpr1m3.bsky.social · 28/07/2026

This game has me more worried about jackals with plasma pistols than jackal snipers

I saw Obsession last night. Great movie, but it was weird that Nikki temporarily attained class consciousness and assassinated the nearest billionaire, then went straight back to focusing on Bear like nothing happened.

It's kinda neat that the reflecting pool now reflects our country in a Dorian Gray kind of way.

People don't know how to verbalize their problems with media anymore. All some people say is that something is "spiritually reddit" or "chungus slop" and we're supposed to just know what that means.

Basically the same kick since 2004 but now it's cringe and "Fortnite-like". When did people stop having real things to complain about?

Just voted early in the NJ-12 primary. There was someone electioneering for Squire just barely beyond the 100 foot limit from the entrance where it wouldn't be allowed

Grrrrr, I hate that they made The Boys political by having Homelander be a stand-in for Trump. I miss season 1 when everything was apolitical (and Homelander was a stand-in for George Bush).

000

Derek Prime @derekpr1m3.bsky.social · 20/05/2026

The Boys fans when the show ends by wrapping up character arcs instead of having 8 episodes of Homelander destroying everything and aura farming

I bet that at least 10% of the population in The Boys thinks the White House footage is AI and that Homelander ascended to watch over the country.

I used information from multiple pieces of Halo media to map out Installation 04. I made a video on it that I'll line in a reply under this post. #HaloCombatEvolved #HaloSpotlight

Kripke really called the divide that conservative American Catholics would need to pick a side on between Trump and the Pope
