#Peachtober26 Day 3 - MOOSE! Added some beaver friends for the moose, too. Painted in watercolor and ink. #kidlitart #Peachtober26moose

A cute watercolor illustration created by Alissa Staples. A moose sits in some grass, with a beaver climbing on his back. Two more beavers sit on either side of the moose, and the moose appears to be listening to the beaver in the foreground.

Omigod, this is the most heartwarming story possible! Backpack (bear 89) is the son of the 2019 winner of Fat Bear Week, Holly (bear 435). In 2007, he injured his foot & a practice of riding on momma's Holly's back had a new meaning: he was mobility-restricted while it healed. So Holly moved him.

From DISCVR blog's Facebook page, a momma bear & a yearling cub on her back in the shallow water. I think the background has been swapped out, and I can't rule out some AI use there? God, Facebook has become the social media for AI slop : (

The title of the article, which I link below, is "How Bear 89 earned the name Backpack"

MY SCOTS BOOKS ARE HERE! :D Surprised everything got here this quickly since I ordered it two weeks ago from the UK. Excited to dive into the workbook and try reading the nursery rhymes and short books! I'm REALLY stoked to read the book about the cute little owl! Should be fun learning Scots! ^^

The Luath Scots Language Learner book along with the accompanying audio recording CD, the Luath Treasury of Scottish Nursery Rhymes, The Hootlet Thit Couldnae Fly by Emma Grae, and The Moggie Thit Meowed Too Much by Emma Grae.

Flights have been booked to the UK and got our ETA/visa stuff all sorted and approved! :) Surprised to see British Airways was significantly cheaper than Air Canada, even with the BA ticket including more things than the AC one. Changing airlines helped us save over $500! :O

Bumble shark plushies! She's so fuzzy 😭🐝

A photo of Humlehaj, the bumble shark, being held by two arms up in the air against a background of sunflowers and a traditional red Swedish house. Humlehaj is a hybrid between bumblebee and shark, and has therefore a fuzzy body and brown and yellow stripes, as well as small bumblebee wings. She looks like she is ready to buzz away and towards the sunflowers! If only those hands would let her go... Free her!!!

A photo of Humlehaj, the bumble shark, being hugged sweetly against a person wearing a striped t-shirt. There are some sunflowers in the background. Humlehaj has two hands cosily hugging her against the person's chest. She is such a cosy cuddle buddy!

Humlehaj has been caught again in this photo, and is being held against someone wearing a dark brown coat while she is pointed outwards, her fins sticking out a little.. Humlehaj does not seem to mind much, though, as she is smiling and as round as ever. One could even say she loves a good play session!

Trying something a bit different today! Went to go get a nice cup of tea after work and noticed there was a sign advertising getting yuzu tea with matcha as foam on top. I’ve heard of this, but I’ve never actually seen it before. Sort of looks like the matcha is floating like a cloud!

Fun fact: "Reviewing an AI made translation" is more work for translators than just translating it themselves, because AI translations do not pass the sniff test beyond the most superficial. It's a loophole companies use as an excuse to underpay translators, and nothing else.
