I keep toying w the idea of writing sequels for my books. On the one hand, as a reader I'm not a fan of sequels to standalones generally. On another hand, I think it would be fun for me personally.

This WIP is very different than my usual stuff. I'm used to writing chapters that are like 3k max and so far I've written two chonkers at 5k 😆 and I'm not even into the main plot

One of the best things you can do for an author is check their book out of the library. If your library doesn't have the title, requesting it is also great! Never apologize. The library bought the book! Sometimes more than one! Because of you!

I couldn't sleep so I stayed up reading my own book and I honestly really love it. Sometimes it's easy to get caught up in flaws but I truly did write these books for me.

Random question for the #writingcommunity, esp those writing historical fiction. Do you do research before you start writing or do you research as you go?

If you are strapped for cash but still want to read my books, they are all available (in both paperback and e-book formats) via the Ottawa Public Library. They're also available at the Toronto Public Library and a number of others. You can also request that your local library pick copies up!

authors working a full-time job while writing novels are extremely powerful people. what do you mean you slave away for 8+ hours of the day then sit down and write your stories? i'd be totally burned out. y'all work so hard and should be proud of yourselves. 👏

My first character was a dog who wanted to fly 😭 don't remember his name now. It was a picture book. Tbh, I've considered writing his story again, esp since I never finished it the first time haha. I had other dog characters too, including a fantasy story. Might someday try to write that again :P

I see the book piracy conversation cropping up on my feeds today. I know people who pirate books and gonna keep pirating but I still have to reiterate. The most money I've ever made in a year from my writing is 500$. Some years, I only made 30. Two of my books are readily available to pirate.

A grieving, ancient witch, the vengeful hunter that was hired to kill him, and a closeted gay farmer's son all have one thing in common. They are all under threat of a Puritan cult set to destroy them simply for being who they are. The Witch of Eden Hollow - a 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈 fantasy romance [9 Oct. 2026]
Final book cover for "The Witch of Eden Hollow" by G.T. Anthony
It's a dark green cover with pale gold lettering. The centerpiece of the cover is a large ring of woven branches with wilting vines wrapped around it. Within it is a hare sitting and watching the viewer. Behind it is a patch of daisies.Back cover graphic. It's the same forest green as the front, except the synopsis is in that pale gold font:

A Grieving Witch, His Vengeful Hunter, and a Feud between Piety and Magic

Hunting witches is Inquisitor T. Sterling's specialty. Many
hail and revere him for his efficiency and ruthlessness. But
soon, he is about to tackle his most difficult hunt yet.
A small hamlet called Eden Hollow has reached out to him
for aid with their own witch problem. He accepts the job but
soon after realises that his target is not what it seems to be.

Elias' life is tied to the Elder Grove, and he hides himself
away and keeps everyone out with hostile barriers or killing
first and asking questions later.
When this witch hunter stumbles into his life, he knows he
should make quick work of him. But as the forest deteriorates
around him and he is desperate to find out the reason why, this
hunter may be his only hope.

Within Eden Hollow, Avery Miller fights a war within himself
that he fears he will lose. To be devout means to turn his back
on the man he loves. To embrace a strange, all-consuming power
means gambling with the risk of being disgraced. Or executed.

As their lives intertwine and tensions rise, secrets that were
kept locked away seep through the cracks, and what they find
very well may destroy them.

Going to lengths to exclude self-published authors from lists, awards, and more is becoming dated and is upsetting for those of us who put as much work as a small publisher. There are plenty of us out here who do not engage in use of generative AI and who are writing compelling speculative fiction.
