Think about Miss Piggy. She lost a best friend and now an ex-lover in matter of 24 hours.

Miss Piggy and Dolly Parton in fancy dresses posing together

photo of Tim Curry surrounded by muppets, smiling for a photo. A quote from curry is added “it didn’t go very well. It didn’t survive the shoot. She felt I wasn’t being faithful to her” it’s him discussing his ill fated affair with miss piggy

I really cannot think of a greater honor than to have the Muppets say this about you upon your passing

Instagram post from the official Muppets account: Few humans have earned the title of honorary Muppet more than the legendary Tim Curry. As a performer he was unparalleled - witty, charming, unnerving, and deeply funny. We will always consider it one of our greatest treasures to have been part of Long John Silver’s crew. Thank you for everything, Tim.

"I'm sure of my talent and I'm sure of my love for life."

do you ever feel that you're a joke

all these years, the people thought the joke was on me, but the joke's actually been on the public

i'm sure of myself as a person, I'm sure of my talent and I'm sure of my love for life. I like the person I am, so I can afford to around with makeup and clothes because i'm secure with myself.

Remember that if you got the Moderna Covid vaccine, you have Dolly Parton to thank, she gave the largest individual contribution toward their research to make it possible.

I like Mistria a lot, but I hope people know that the depth of writing/art/details was made possible because it was funded by the Pusheen empire. Of course anyone can do QOL features and good writing, but if you *really* want 60+ hours of content, that takes a loooot of money and time!

In doing research for my podcast I learned that there is a millipede native to the PNW that excretes hydrogen cyanide as a defense mechanism and smells like almonds?? I’ve lived here for ten years and I’ve never found the cyanide millipede? I need to go on a hike and find this cookie scented bug.

Anyway, just remember full-grown Stephanias take upwards of 20 years to get that big so if you see one in a store (or at a con) that’s massive and doesn’t have clear provenance… It was poached. Ok rant over getting off my soapbox now

Faye ✨ @acobi.bsky.social · 20/08/2026

This hobby has the opportunity to be about conservation, propagation, sport cataloguing, and *re*populating endangered species - but when the focus is on rarity and the veneer of luxury, we lose sight of what plants are: living organisms. The focus is on possession rather than cultivation.

130

Faye ✨ @acobi.bsky.social · 20/08/2026

And it’s those exact “rarity” pressures that turn tropical plant collecting into a gold rush, get rich quick scheme that kind of undermines the entire point of, idk, GROWING A PLANT. And it also encourages endangered plant poaching from the wild.

130

Faye ✨ @acobi.bsky.social · 20/08/2026

Not to get on my “everything is political” soapbox again but with the way the Plant Con discourse is starting to spiral I just have to point out that plant “value” and “rarity” is a wild thing to consider and rare plant price tags are ridiculously high because of the pressures of capitalism
