Carbon, caught in motion. Plants provide carbon to their mycorrhizal fungal partners. In return, fungi help plants access nutrients from the soil. Globally, ~13 billion tons of CO₂ flow from plants to mycorrhizal fungi each year, equivalent to about 36% of annual fossil fuel emissions.

Americans are always blaming Brazil for failing to protect the Amazon. But we deforested our Amazon in the 1800s! Indiana was once 85% forest, and Indiana’s soy is farmed the same way as Brazil’s. Stop pointing fingers, start helping Brazil protect the Amazon.

Beige marks land and gray marks missing ocean values. The main colour scale spans -2 to +10°F, with white at zero. Hot pink marks anomalies above +10°F. Comments for Public Posting: As someone living in an apartment building without AC, this
affects me and my neighbors directly. Our landlord has been
taking action to prevent tenants from using portable AC units
while my neighbors, especially those who are disabled and
elderly, suffer. Until there is a viable alternative presented, it is
dangerous to disallow portable AC units in apartments where it is
otherwise impossible to reach safe temperatures. Thank you for
considering this ordinance to help protects tenants like me and my
