Full confiscation of 989 billionaire's money would "only" cover more than a fifth of national debt?
America's 989 billionaires hold a combined $8.4 trillion, a sum that would cover only about 21% of the gross national debt even under full confiscation.

INBOX: been a rough week for Los Angeles
With nearly two-straight weeks of extreme heat, Los Angeles is experiencing one of its longest and most intense heatwaves in years. This is part of a broader heat dome bringing dangerous conditions across much of the southern and western United States.

"One of the most interesting parts of this heat wave is that Los Angeles is experiencing humidity that is also well above the historical average, and much more similar to what parts of Georgia would be accustomed to this time of year. Unusually warm ocean water off Southern California is adding moisture to the air and limiting the relief at night. This is far from the dry heat Los Angeles is accustomed to experiencing,” said AccuWeather expert meteorologist Alyson Hoegg.
