2nd week of #ASCB! Evolution of regeneration, Eve Gazave, hands-on Platynereis regeneration wonderfully demonstrated, with help from Zoé Velasquillo, Rémi Strehl. Francina Langa Vives and expert CIGM team had everyone try pronuclear injections + ES into blastocysts - steady hands of creation.

The importance of history, clarity on what we generate in a dish compared to the ground truth. The resourceful David Turner @gastruloids.bsky.social, initiated students on reproducible gastruloid generation and A-P extension. And now, into the 2nd week...

First dynamic in vivo analysis of dystrophic MuSCs. Identifies niche dysfunctions and points to strategies to restore stem cell function in DMD.

Cross-grafting experiments uncouple MuSC behaviours: Migration is dictated by the myofibre niche, fate decisions are fibre-independent, and symmetric cell divisions are disrupted. Resolves some long-standing debates in the field.

mdx stem cell dysfunction is driven by p38/PI3K signalling, unlike healthy MuSCs, leading to precocious differentiation and loss of stemness.
