Yup. This is the lesson. A similar one was pushes to "automate sentencing" in order to "make it more objective". So they trained it on past sentencing. You'll just be shocked to discover that minorities were still given harsher sentences because it's baked into the data. It just copies the pattern.

If you use a sample that is primarily from *certain* groups, it will bias the results to those same groups. Given, as I say, this is your entire job - is there a good reason you're acting as if you don't know this? E.g. there's a disproportionate number of trans related posts in there.
