The OoT remake somehow made the crumbling platform before the slingshot *more* organic, but then turned around (literally) and added the Eye Switch™ to one of the few puzzles that didn't rely on the Eye Switch™. It's making the world look more realistic(?), but the interactions even more mechanical

Conversely, trying to hit the Eye Switch™ for the first time is *also* a good idea that's rewarded, right? But it feels like a very obvious engine limitation: "oh we need to lock the door behind slingshot, but don't have a slingshot-based lock so we have to use the generic switch that does *stuff*"

I mean, once you learn how to drop the ladder, the ladder itself can become a signpost that you recognize, and the level can build on that signpost to make more complex puzzles. I was thinking more about the contrast between "Objects That Act Organically" vs "the Eye Switch That Does Everything™"

Heck, I have a newfound appreciation for Snowhead and Great Bay, because they still have a lot of "abstract" switches, but many of them are shaped like the thing they do. (Respectively: stone pillars to stomp so another pillar rises, and water faucets)

3D Zelda, especially the adult half of OoT, sometimes feels very "mechanical", with the eye panels, switches, etc (and I still like it). But now I have a newfound appreciation for this early moment where you hit *the ladder* to make *it* fall, instead of hitting *a switch* to make *the ladder* fall.

I finished this art request from last nights stream: it's Raz from Psychonauts!! this was a bit of a challenge because raz's design is so embedded w/his character, so I really had to try my best to kinda stick with it, while also trying to put my own spin on things. in the end, I think it worked!

Not sure how consistent this is (I swear it sounds worse on streams than on my pc), but when using the Gambatte core with Clock Throttle, the audio pitches down by about 1 quarter tone (and back up after 1 second) every time the GB loads an entire room of data.

@ People who stream Gameboy games on Bizhawk (so mostly Archipelago streamers): please, PLEASE set Config > Speed/Skip > Audio Throttle (or at least use the SameBoy core), so the music doesn't continuously switch between 2 different tunings, in a way that drives ME, specifically, crazy.

Its really difficult for me to live in a world where Im confronted with AI generated music and art everyday of my life, online and offline. I've always been stuck in the past when it comes to my interests and media I enjoy (perhaps to a detriment) and genAI has just encouraged these behaviors.
