medium.com/@Christeriou... I've never blogged before, but I HAD to write my thoughts on the Undertale concert. Only an 8 minute read as I try to avoid rambling - overall, I enjoyed it, but I go to a lot of game concerts (and have helped run some before) so I have a lot of opinions.

So who's got the one copy of Witcher 3 on switch near me and wants to hand it around door to door to all switch 2 owners wanting a free copy?

Christerious @christerious.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

Unlike most Switch 2 games that I've gotten really into, I actually kinda... keep dreading picking Fire Emblem back up? It's like how I felt many hours into Persona 5, mainly because the time limits + scale of micromanagement allows me to create an overwhelming level of minmaxing for no reason.

Okay letting me queue for 90 minutes for Zelda tickets to only have £300 options available is pretty cruel lol

Past few days has really been peak video game music (Undertale concert, chiptune gig) followed by it's so over (I'm too ill to go to Sonic concert and I'm probably too late to get tickets for the Zelda concert)

does anyone want to read 10 minutes of me rambling about the undertale concert and video game concerts in general? probably not but I'm writing it anyway lol

EXCLUSIVE: 2026 is shaping up to become one of the most nefarious years for video game layoffs. I spent the last couple of months asking game music composers a very simple question: how are you holding up? nowplaying.cool/how-indie-ga...

How Indie Game Composers Are Surviving the Layoff Storm

As 2026 shapes up to be another record year for video game layoffs, composers find themselves on the front lines. Feeling the squeeze, they open up about how they keep their heads above water.

Interesting reading more impressions of the currently touring Undertale concert and that the UK had the special problem of the conductor encouraging people to cheer whenever they want. Like, concerts with orchestras don't HAVE to be old fashioned but I do generally like to hear the music lol

Yesterday was so blessed even before the chiptune gig. Got to the new NQ64 arcade and the staff at the door were like "I've been told to give the next person who came in these tokens". Got like £40 worth? Third time I've got free tokens (birthday and work do before). So much DDR to play.

Chiptune gig yesterday was great. Can't believe I thought I might not like chiptune gigs. I was just chilling at the back nodding along and feeling nostalgic for a lot of chiptune I recognized (or at least recognize the inspirations of). V good time.

Gonna make a tier list of forms of highlighting your favorite games. Ironically, tier lists to rank games are only A tier, but top 9 is S tier. Top 25 is B tier that's too many. Top 3 is C tier that's too little and doesn't paint a picture.

Feel like I need to learn how to put some heavy drum track over my beep boops to make a lil set list. Is there a really no brain software for that? What do chiptuners use when they mix drum tracks over stuff like LSDj and famitracker? DAWs scare me

I have a serious problem. I realised Northern Line sounds like NorthernLion and it's the tube line I get on the most often. I can't unhear it. The next stop on NorthernLion is Goodge Street. What does it mean.

"No photos or videos of the Undertale concert" they said. Oh don't worry this is just a 3DS :) FOOLS. I have captured the whole concert in 3D. Materia can't stop me!!

Omg it's so incredibly vindicating to be reading articles like this. Do you know how weird it feels to be in a room full of gamers having the best time at a concert and thinking "wait this kinda sucks right now is anyone seeing this"?

Christerious @christerious.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

Okay so the Undertale concert was really good. Great performance, well structured, lots of hits played (including some crazy choices), gameplay was synced up with occasional, effectively used SFX, cool lighting too, MD did a nice job hyping up crowd at start. However... I am a grumpy critic, so...

Got 3 streetpasses at the Undertale concert. Got me up to 3500 streetpass hits. Exciting times.

Jumping back into Fire Emblem having only just got to a point where I can roam around a hub area of sorts and holy moly. Lots of infodump. It's very Persona-ey. Apparently I need to remember to feed a bird.

New fire emblem hasn't quite clicked with me yet (only 4 hours in) but maybe because I liked Awakening and the series is now quite different. Apparently 100 hours, a LOT of story front loaded, its character art isn't gelling with me so far either.
