I'm currently in Kyiv 🇺🇦 Quite different from my first visit. Air raid alerts are constant, and you regularly hear close explosions and anti-aircraft fire throughout the day, even in the centre of the city.

Yesterday, at the Valdai Club, Putin lied as usual. He claimed that Russia took control of 1,301 sq km in the "SМO" zone during September. In reality, Russian forces expanded the occupied zone by 66 km² in September. Year-over-year pacing continues to slow down.

A third jet drone hit Kyiv's Southern Bridge at around 5am this morning. It won't collapse, but damage has made it unsafe for the moment and it's closed to all but pedestrians. With huge jams across the city, many are choosing to make the long walk instead.

2/2 A few explosions were heard at the Samara linear production and dispatching station. It's part the Transneft operation and is said to hold over 1.6m cubic metres of oil in more than 70 tanks. How many of those caught light will be interesting but it doesn't look a huge fire.
