In a dashboard available to the workers, human reviewers are able to select which “task” they want to take on. Once they click that, they are presented with the real ChatGPT user’s prompt. 404 Media has seen multiple real prompts but is not quoting any of them for source protection reasons. Some of the prompts indicate the ChatGPT user does not expect that a human may end up reading their conversation, because they ask ChatGPT to keep the content to themselves.

I finally dusted off my old drawing tablet to try out Blender's clay sculpting today! Smth simple to start with: this leather wrap shield handle. I was so intimidated by re-learning to sculpt from scratch but it's been a surprising joy so far to reconnect w art again, and long overdue ✨🖤

My photo collage shows four Minoan clay vessels from Bronze Age Crete some 3,500 years ago. They are all painted with a creamy-yellow slip and decorated with black motifs.

Top left - a round clay flask with a short spout, and a small loop handle at either side of the spout. The flask is decorated with an octopus with eight writhing, sucker-lined arms covering the whole surface of the flask. It stares out at the viewer with wide, almost cartoon-like eyes. Additional motifs include sea urchins, tritons, small rocks and seaweed. Minoan decoration depicting sea motifs is known as ‘Marine Style’. It is 27 cm tall. From Palaikastro, 1500-1450 BC.

Just my personal opinion and experience: I believe streaming was/is a poor sticking plaster over systemic issues that prevent many ppl frm rebuilding physical media collections. Namely scarce physical space to store, precarious living situation (renting) and lack of money (see prev 2 points).

A recent gameplay addition to a #UE5 project required something to pick up, inspect and stack. So I decided to throw together a quick crate and clay 'bottle' to fit the need while also stretching the artistic muscles in the process. #b3d #substancepainter #gamedev #gameart #indiedev

A crate made of wooden slats stands behind a clay vessel in the shape of a long necked, square based bottle. It is painted in a mixture of yellows and reds. The remnants of a blue and cream coloured label are stuck to its side, torn at the perforation. At the base of the bottle rests a wooden stopper trimmed in a golden coloured metal with black painted lettering on the wood.

A collection of close-ups of the bottle on its own showing areas of detail such as minor imperfections in the paint edges and application. Small chips that have occurred in the clay as well as the overall design of the decoration.

The wooden stopper is affixed into the opening by a parchment label that runs over the top. The label is designed to prove it is sealed when sold and the parchment is perforated to easily release the stopper.

The wooden crate is displayed from multiple angles to show its full design as well as an isolated shot of the stopper. Its inner area is divided by wooden planks into six spaces to fit bottles of varying types. On the short side there are openings to allow for easy handling and an inset area of parchment to mark the contents. On the long side there are large black letters painted across its center and a smaller square in the bottom right corner with red letters stamped inside it.

My spiciest gamedev take: "just use Nanite" + industry race toward visual fidelity has legitimized/enabled ppl (often not artists) who demand art pipelines start w overcomplex "high quality" assets then work backwards. Bad practice imo, but maybe I'm too nostalgic abt the Old Ways of optimization.

Finished Metal Eden. It's not exactly outstanding in terms of game design, but visually, it's stunning. I've seen a lot of people say "Marathon looks cool, but I wish it was a single-player game". Metal Eden might be the closest we have to that, at least visually.
