Big news for F-Zero GX (credit to bstest4he on twitter): we have found cheat codes to unlock everything in the game, including the elusive gold parts that were previously JP-arcade event locked! Though there are a couple of caveats.

The cheat codes, entered at Customize -> F-Zero Shop, all directions must be performed using the Dpad:

All AX Courses Unlocked: X Y < > Z Z > < Y X Z Z Y Y > > >
Dark Schneider Unlocked: Z Z Z X X X X Y Y < < > > > Y Y
All AX Machines Unlocked: X X < > Y Z Z Y < > X < > Z X > < Y Y

Gold Parts (must be performed with 4 controllers simultaneously):
Thunderstorm parts: X Z Y Z X Z Y X
El Dorado parts: X > X Z Y < < Z
Chrono Symphony parts: < > Z > < X > Z
Bahamut parts: Y Y Z > < Z X Y
Gladiator parts: > Z X < < > Z X

The gold machine parts, previously unavailable outside of participating in JP-exclusive AX events or by hacking

A tale of two protests #meme #france

[based on the famous meme by Tom Gauld, two completely identical realms are facing each other, with labels]

OUR DEMOCRACY UNDER ATTACK
Our irresponsible students blocking their schools
Our violent rioters destroying public property
Our ultraleftists firing MORTARS at the police
Our courageous police dealing with anarchist violence

THEIR BRAVE FIGHT AGAINST AUTHORITARIANISM
Their courageous students standing up to tyranny
Their ingenious barricades of resistance
Their protesters firing back with fireworks
Their brutal riot police crushing dissent

conventional wisdom for the entire time i've been programming has always been "less code is better". the idea that we must write more code faster is ridiculous. the problem has never been rate of output

here's how the real zelda timeline works

Four distinct Zelda timelines, one being 'Miyamoto Zelda' that has OoT, Zelda 1, Zelda 2, Oracles, LttP, Awakening, Link Between Worlds, and Echoes of Wisdom not in a line, with a note saying 'every time Miyamoto was asked about the timeline, he had a different answer, so order doesn't matter', then Aonuma Zelda has Skyward Sword into OoT into branching timelines of WW into PH into ST and MM into TP, third section titled Fujibayashi Zelda has Skyward Sword into BotW into TotK, with BotW and TotK having asides for their own Hyrule Warriors, and the fourth section is Four Swords Zelda which is Minish Cap into Four Swords into Four Swords Adventures

I love that Bulbapedia uses this pog-champ-looking promo instead of the more recognizable art for the original Pikachu card

Screenshot of an infobox from Bulbapedia, showing "Pikachu Lv. 12". The card shown is in Japanese and its art consists of Pikachu in a mouth-open joyful expression from Pokemon Snap, with the camera extremely zoomed in such that only Pikachu's eyes, nose, mouth, and partially one of its cheek pouches are visible. The image is labelled "Unnumbered Promotional print / Photo. Mina Akuhara".

Two versions of the same card, this time in English, showing the more classically recognizable image of Pikachu from the Base Set of the Pokemon TCG; one with the original yellow cheek pouches and the second with the corrected red pouches. Labelled "Base Set print" and "Altered Base Set print", respectively, both also labelled "Illus. Mitsuhiro Arita".

The ways in which the joys of childhood is constantly being ripped away from children and repackaged to adults is bleak. This is why Adult LEGO sets piss me off now. They are conceptually cool but now every toy line realized adults and scalpers make them a lot of money, leaving kids by the wayside

My first "real" video game was Super Mario Land, and that definitely sucked me in, but I'm not sure it defines my taste... maybe the later Wario Land games did, though. More humorous / subversive / exploratory. And obviously there's a through-line there from SML1 to the whole Wario series.
