How would children improve transport? This list looks good to me. Government support for these actions is an investment in future generations, and has long term benefits for public health, communities and the environment. Great work from Sustrans & Halfords.
Survey results show significant support from children for:
- making sure more things they need are in walking distance
- stopping cars parking on pavements
- more road crossings
- reducing price of cycles
- giving all children cycle training
- more traffic-free paths and quiet routes for walking and cycling
- creating more cycle paths along roads separated from cars
- more public transport
- free travel for children on public transport
- closing streets outside schools to cars during school pick-up & drop off
- reducing the speed of cars
- people driving less
