For a while, it was only the Hitler sign in the yard. Unfortunate, especially because my neighbor (whom I love) also has German heritage and used to have a fake “German parking only” sign up on a light post by the road.

… those ended up saving his life a couple of weeks ago when he went into v-fib while home alone. Got zapped seven times in as many minutes. Knowing his history and that my heart troubles started at an even younger age, and as a woman, is scary. I hope you and your kids remain healthy. ❤️

I’m so sorry. That’s a terrible amount of loss for one family. So far, my dad and I are the only one with heart issues—he actually went into sudden cardiac arrest in 2019 and was saved by bystander CPR; I had my own HA/SCA later that year. Now he has a pacemaker and defibrillator … (1/2)

I must’ve been just after you. I started having side effects from the shots, but it still seemed worth it, if it could prevent another HA. All signs were so promising for this to work, and now it’s not clear what, if any, positive impact the other drugs in the pipeline will have. 😞

I went to that a couple of years ago and would like to go back. They hosted a Zoom conversation about Horizon a couple of weeks ago—my dad and I watched the recording from his hospital room, actually. No answers, unfortunately, but I found it helpful nonetheless. I believe it’s recorded.

I’m sorry. I think my dad’s first heart attack (of 4—most recent one was 10 days ago) was in his late 40s. It’s so disheartening. I got a VM from my site coordinator today telling me that Novartis has finally officially told them it’s time to wrap it up. 😞

Just once in my life I would like to see a Democrat being interviewed by right wing media like Fox News or right wing media like every single other outlet treat their questions with the contempt they deserve. I know it's not going to fix everything or maybe even anything but how much coverage and how much groundswell of excitement from the base do you think it would inspire if when asked about "boys in girls sports" or some other stupid fucking culture war distraction one of them finally said "What the fuck are you talking about man? You sound like a dumb asshole right now."

What's the worst that's going to happen the New York Times is gonna work overtime to make sure you don't get elected? They were already doing that buddy.

You simply say "Are you stupid? Do you think I am stupid? And do you think all of the people watching at home are stupid? Everyone sees through what you are doing. Using one group as a scapegoat for the very real problems everyone has – all caused by Republicans by the way – unlike this fake one you have made up. Dumb asshole."

Just go on the attack for once instead of sitting there trying to please your enemy who is in the process of trying to humiliate you.

And if you want to say something else true that almost no Democrat ever says for some reason you can top it off with a “Every single Republican in our lifetime has sought to make our lives worse in every way possible. I’d like to try to stop that.”

Today I led a group of 10 Cub Scouts in making sunprints. It was 92° with 1000% humidity and the 8- and 9-year-olds had the focus of caffeinated gnats and sweat poured from me like a gajillion mini Niagaras, soaking my clothes and dripping onto their art. That was 6 hours ago; I’ve nearly recovered.
