i don't think ppl these days necessarily lack "media literacy," i think most ppl who are interested in art at all are fairly capable of interpretation, & are just reading art according to a broken framework, one that centers the self, in part because the self is also a commodity on the internet

this is also so true! while "unc" is meant to signal that you're old, it's also a intended as a sign of respect from a young person to an older person, not a diss! it can be received with a cringe sometimes because well, no one likes to be called old, but it's supposed to be at least respectful!
