L Break Into Program @breakintoprogram.co.uk · 16/09/2026Just passed a nearby petrol station and £1.97 for a litre of diesel is ridiculous. To fill up my car now costs an extra £35. And it's not a particularly large tank, only 60 litres. Glad I don't rely upon my car.8:16 PM · Sep 16, 2026 8150
Ghost Ninja @iamcodeninja.bsky.social · 16/09/2026↪ Replying to @breakintoprogram.co.ukput £40 of diesel in ours yesterday from ~8 litres from empty. It went to just over half. I doubt I could fill it for less than £80 now. 210
Andy Toone @lockfarm.bsky.social · 16/09/2026↪ Replying to @breakintoprogram.co.ukWe've got to get our kid to college next week - 300 mile round trip. We did a 400 mile round trip last week for his sister. Fuel on the motorway was £2.12 a litre. I dread to think what it will be soon. 220
Snuggsy187 @snuggsy187.bsky.social · 16/09/2026↪ Replying to @breakintoprogram.co.ukYep, it's shambles again. Got to fill up with petrol on Friday - it's gone from £1.71 to £1.74 in a day, so who knows what it'll be on Friday ! 🙄 020
dinglebop.bsky.social @dinglebop.bsky.social · 16/09/2026↪ Replying to @breakintoprogram.co.ukWhat makes me angry is the huge difference in price between diesel and petrol. My dad used to work in petrochemical plants, and diesel is easier and cheaper to extract from oil, and it should only be the extra tax that makes it cost more than petrol. Oil companies are profiteering, simple as that. 210
L Break Into Program @breakintoprogram.co.uk · 16/09/2026Anyway, took the plunge this evening and bought an e-bike. I drive less than 3000 miles a year these days, hoping this will mean I can use the train into work less and not arrive in a sweaty mess. It seemed expensive but cost me the equivalent of 9 full tanks of fuel. 5181
Simon Laycock @notsofastmatey.bsky.social · 16/09/2026↪ Replying to @breakintoprogram.co.ukI hope you enjoy the e-bike. I got one a few years ago because I test rode one and couldn't wipe the smile off my face. I've never had such a strong "shut up and take my money" feeling. That one got nicked during COVID but I love my new one even more! 210

I got rid of my R33 Skyline the first time it cost £70 to fill up (which I had to do every two days) - now it'd be nearly £120. The Polestar for the same distance is about £12.50. 210
