the Red Hot Chili Peppers had these incredibly talented, thoughtful musicians and also a lead singer constantly yelling "lickity split with my kung fu chicken / met a freaky girl for some freakity lickin"

the Red Hot Chili Peppers are just one of those memes that's like "you have 15 dollars to make the perfect band" and then spent 14 of the 15 dollars on bass/guitar/drums and only had one dollar left

Hahahah..my 11 year old was forced to play a RHCP song for School of Rock and she literally says the same thing. Great band, CORNBALL lead singer.

What’s funny is that Flea has said in interviews that he’s really self-conscious about his playing because he compares himself to jazz greats and feels like he doesn’t stack up. He gets a little choked up talking about it here youtube.com/shorts/CJJD2...

I'll take this as a chance to mention people should check our Frusciante's solo stuff, his work with Mars Volta, and his band Ataxia

To me, they're like 4 dudes who started out being really into funk, rock, partying, and getting girls. They were all juvenile. Then Kiedis leaned on the the faux-deep thinker schtick to keep getting girls. The other 3 managed to legitimately grow up, but he's stayed stuck as a caricature.

That's pretty funny, but some people REALLY hate RHCP and I've never quite gotten why. I know like two of their songs and they're... fine. Fun to sing at karaoke, at least. But otherwise, I've never found that they've made much of an impression on me one way or the other.
