CrossRoadArt- Bear (1/2 Commissions Slots Open) @crossroadart.bsky.social · 25/06/2025

Hey! Fuck yeah! Let’s see you through to 3K! Thanki for the art share! Hi, I’m Bear, a crytpid that doesn't usually bite, a fantasy illustrator and ‘The Henchmen’s Guide’ is my fault. Here is my art feed if u want to try to make it make sense. Good luck 👹 bsky.app/profile/did:...

A master study of one of Leyedecker’s classic 1920’s menswear paintings featuring an example of smart casual winter wear, however, as per my usual practice when doing a master study, I have substituted the model in the painting for one of my own OCs. In this case I have gone with my OC Miles, the werewolf Sloan’s second henchmen or, according to some, her assistant or indeed secretary. Not an unfair assumption, it’s easy for Miles’ grace and upright academic nature to out shine his physical abilities.

Here he stands before a backdrop of white brushstrokes, implying a clear, bright winter's day, with a fir tree branch braking up all the negative space behind him. He is standing with his attention contently occupied to his right, despite the black tail of his boss disappearing across the bottom left side of the canvas. His hands are in the generously sized pockets of a very well made, double breasted, mustard yellow, long coat. A white scarf with orange accents on its ends is bundled around his shoulders and neck, the pale shade of which brings out the soft warm browns of his first nations skin tone. On his head he wears an olive green flat cap, the band of which sits behind his one visible ear. It is not always noted just how large Miles’ ears are, his long black hair, even when braided or loosely tied back, as it is here, and his ever diligent gaze, tend to steal their limelight.

All together the outfit suits Miles very well, for its practicality, upright yet approachable nature and general appealing charisma.

On a wet road in a dim foggy forest, a werewolf so dark it could be described as a silhouette with white eyes, looms over a young man laying on the tarmac in a frozen state of fight or flight.

The young man is in a dark pink hoodie which contrasts with the otherwise cool, dark pallet of the scene.

It’s hard to convince yourself that everything is going to be ok in the face of someone like Sloan.

Theo had tried to put up the arrogant front of a deeply unimpressed teenager, however his failure was evident in her shades, where he could see the reflection of his own uncertainty in his eyes. They watched the face of the predators before him with a primal calculation gear towards survival. Her smile was the foremost object of disturbance. It was distinctly wrong. A little too wide and crowded with jaggard hyena-like teeth. It could, arguably, hold a candle to the definition of a maw. The fact that her skin was scored with a hash of pale scars didn’t help the impression either, it told the story of someone not easily dissuaded from any given intention. All this set in the backdrop of a mane of black hair with webs of silver that Theo himself still had decades to possess. She raised one eyebrow behind her shades. Theo noted it too, and smoked his joint with a sinking feeling. Even in the bright, safe light of the beach they stood on, Theo estimated that he was the nameless victim in the prologue of a horror.

If only he was so lucky. This is not in fact the prologue, this is chapter one and he is the P.O.V.

Theo and Miles were doomed by a fried egg, and in a way this is an illustration of that egg.

Its brown shell cracked open and dropping out of its opaque center falls two sunny orange young men in their early twenties; they are the hue of an egg yolk in every sense including their clothes.

From within a glossy glop of descending albumen they reach for each other because they know if they hold onto each other they won’t break.

Miles, a young man in his early 20’s with a slender figure and a handsome face, tumbles lowest, his hips and legs rolling over his chest, his long hair trailing up from his fall and his expression wide eyed, ready and hopeful in the face of Theo, whose forearm he has gripped just above Theo’s various bracelets.

In turn Theo, also a young man in his twenties with a strong compact body, a soft torso and blunt squarish face, looks down at Miles with an expression of sureness, haste and of course his ever present edge of annoyance. His grip on Miles arm is firm while he too falls, and though there is nothing they can do about of their evident demise, Theo’s body language does not suggest he is unaccustomed to the fall, and is positioned like a surfer that has just been thrown from his board before being heavily dumped into a folding wave.

In fact neither of them appear to be especially panicked, though the stress of their situation is not absent.

Whatever happens will happen, but it will happen to them together (an unfortunately dim silver lining in the scheme of things).

The egg shell itself has a faded red stamp on it. The stamp reads,

‘The Henchmen’s Guide. Prologue.’

This is the title of the book series and the chapter that condemned these two young men to their villainous werewolf boss, Sloan.

An illustration of an epic fight scene in a foggy forest at night. A dragonborn with fire wings flies towards a witch, while she is casting a deadly spell on him. One of the dragonborn allies, a woman with long red hairs, rush toward the witch to stop her, helped by gosthly vines.
On background one can see scary scarecrows and a desesperate tabaxi

He's got dark and ruddy skin and hair, and he's got large, sharp eyes with the sclera looking pitch black and the iris are an amber red colour. His hair is a dark chestnut colour and appear long, Wavey and thick. His ears are long and sharp and they're pierced, showing jewellery and earrings. His nose is "Roman-shaped", and he's got garnet coloured scales scattered on his face and body. He wears makeup around his eyes, and as an important detail, he has bright red antennae sprouting from the crown of his head. He is wearing a reddish dress and he's got a talisman around his neck, one simbolising an evil eye.

They've got long, pointy elf ears, corned by long reddish brown hair which are wavy and have only one single braid. They've got hazel eyes that looks at the viewer with a gentle, kind but playful expression. They're well dressed in green, and eyebrow and the right ear are all pierced with silver jewelry, detailing an earring with a bright green gem in it. On his neck there's a glittering white tattoo hidden by his black collar.

Their skin is pale and the hair are long and a bit messy, tinted in a purple and black shade. They only have one eye which look purplish, while the other eye is covered under an eye patch with a regal embroidery. They have a wide scar on their face, up to the nose and following through the cheek. The clothing appears fancy, with a white fur and an elegant shirt underneath.

He has long hair braided in locked dreads and he's hot a pair of black horns. He looks mischievous and provocative and he's looking at the viewer through his blue and orange eyes. Living Dead Division @lddarts.bsky.social · 25/06/2025

Good morning everyone!!! 😁 I'm LDD from Delaware. I work mostly on my OC, from a story I'm developing. 🖖🏽😁

Lain, Adelaine Moon, Heléna the King and Phoe-Bee

Lain - Preferred VA: Seth Rogen

Lain is an immortal human who was born in the mid 1980s. He lived a full life, and died in a hospital with his soul mate Heléna. It just so happens, a cooky scientist was doing some science-shit at the same time. A hole got torn in the space-time continuum and Phoe-Bee's (God) energy pushed their souls back into their bodies. They were revived and now their bodies constantly regenerate to peak cellular condition. Also, the energy sent to Lain, climbed him, and created Adelaine.

Adelaine Moon - Preferred VA: Megan Thee Stallion

An immortal accidental celestial clone of my main OC Lain. As Lain and Adelaine were once one being, they were born in the 1980s. They lived a full life, and died in a hospital with their soul mate Heléna. It just so happens, a cooky scientist was doing some science-shit at the same time. A hole got torn in the space-time continuum and Phoe-Bee's (God's) energy pushed their souls back into their bodies. They were revived and now their bodies constantly regenerate to peak cellular condition. Also, the energy sent to Lain, cloned him, and created Adelaine. Personality-wise.... 🤔 She's like a Megan Thee Stallion song, come to life.

Heléna the King - Preferred VA: Cardi B

Heléna the King. An immortal human with a GIANT heart, and a sass for days! She's fun, she's funny, and always is able to bring up the spirits of everyone around her.

Phoe-Bee - Preferred VA : Chelsea Peretti and Caitlin Glass

Phoe-Bee. She is God. The coalescence of all energy in the universe. She's got ALL the knowledge, but still working on figuring out context. She CANNOT read a room.

They were revived and now their bodies constantly regenerate to peak cellular condition. Also, the energy sent to Lain, cloned him, and created Adelaine. Personality-wise.... 🤔 She's like a Megan Thee Stallion song, come to life.

Preferred VA : Kat Denning & Awkwafina

Stormy, the Angel of Time. She's as-if Limp Bizkit and Lady Gaga formed a super-group. She's an episode of Metalocalypse. A 70's horror B-movie, but on purpose...... She's fucking GRINDHOUSE!!!! But she's super sweet, and adores children especially baby sky turtles. She's kinda like a My Little Pony..... with a "gun". If ANYONE messes with the space-time continuum, she WILL BE THERE, and clap those cheeks!!!!

Preferred VA : Chelsea Peretti and Caitlin Glass

Phoe-Bee. She is God. The coalescence of all energy in the universe. She's got ALL the knowledge, but still working on figuring out context. She CANNOT read a room. She shrouded full consciousness in the the mid-1980's, but didn't realize it fully until space-time was broken by a random scientist. She likes to hang-out-with/travel the cosmos with the Living Dead Division as a robotic bee, she originally tried an organic bee, but a 3-foot-long bee wasn't received calmly by really any species.

Pen drawing of a stylized brown bear facing front made up of tendrils of space filled with stars rising out of an abstracted landscape with large columns marked with arcane symbols with the right hand side one showing a front facing bear skull. Past the left column is a bear skull on a large stake with all of this set under a sky in aurora borealis colours and white stars shining out from behind the structures that rise up around and behind the bear-form.

Pen drawing a slight framed young woman with her head encased in a metal face mask with strange markings on it with greasy hair spread out over it with devices and wires coming off the helmet. Her arms are bound to her sides by a metal band as she sits cross-legged in a long, old and tattered white dress that flows over her legs. She is separate but a part of the strange devices and technologies surrounding her with two spines emerging from her shoulders almost like distorted wings, seeming to be more of the controlled than the controller of the environment.

Pen drawing of an abstract horse's head with stars in its wild mane and bright energy spilling out of its eyes as it flows into an abstract and twisted set of shapes bound by toppling pillars of stone with embedded gems and symbols on them with other ruins. All of this is set beneath a sky of aurora colours with orangish bruise like patterns in the sky with white celestial objects raining and radiating in it with three red portals around the head (one behind, one either side) with symbols in white across their reddish surface.

Thanks for the share!!!! I generally draw a lot of things that interest me or something that goes with my own worldbuilding projects and lore. One of 'em are alien dragon people that I call "dracoghouls". But I can draw like dinos and other creatures too.

A legendary blue-glowing bioluminscent wyrm leviathiform (plesiosaur/aquatic reptile-like) that breathes a high-temperature, ionised energy beam, said to wreck spacecraft in space with its gigantic size, that moves so fast that one would perceive it as invisible.

Two sky blue draconians (or Dracoghouls), where the right is vaguely ghoul-like though distinguished by his webbed hands and dark segmented ridges and the left is a proper dragon with goggles, looks over their larger boat with a smaller boat stand with three Naric ghouls. The middle boat ghoul looks at the two onlookers, convincing them of a sale, while the right ghoul on the boat holds a paddle and the large, left ghoul looks at the lone blue ghoul on the platform with his small pet pseudo-rodent (descended like all of them, from native Drachic wildlife). On the top right are two conversing Dracoghouls, one on the left is a light pink ghoul talking, while on the right is a “mekhira” (a half-dragon/half-ghoul Nari hybrid that is rare due to draconic assimilation but sometimes happens in their kind in contemporary times), pushing a small cart carrying frozen ice. This is set in a tropical, wetland location where travelling by river is a social custom for the Nari on this planet.

A female gryphon guardian and a male dragon warrior fight to slay the forsaken ancient wyvern ruler resurrected by the wyverns themselves in a cloudy sunfall/dusk. The head of the wyvern "master" resembles that of a Dilophosaurus but has the capacity to breathe fire, while the gryphon and dragon are comparable in size and are wearing armour, while the gryphon holds up a shield and spear. The dragon is rushing into the breath of the giant forbidden wyvern with his spear. The small wyverns come in a group of four in the composition and coming out from the cave.

A Nothosaurus (semi-aquatic sauropterygian reptile in the Triassic period) on the beach, basking off a cloudy sunrise. In the background there is foliage. (Never mind some potentially anachronistic flora...)

Full color illustration from my Out of Memory comic. It depicts the character "Yaoshe Baiqiao" (aka. "Yao") sitting leisurely in a traditional Chinese-style room. He is an elegant man who appears to be in his late twenties or early thirties, with long, curly medium purple hair that extends past his shoulders. He is wearing an elaborate outfit that resembles traditional Chinese hanfu and is holding a pipe that is shaped like a serpent's head in his right hand. A large wisp of smoke can be seen emanating from the mouth of the pipe.

Cover for Out of Memory - Chapter 5. It features Makoto Kurosawa (real name: Zhen Xinyi) sitting in a well-lit deck with Chinese-style windows, enjoying afternoon tea and snacks. The deck is several stories above ground, as the sky and the upper branches of a tree are all that’s visible through the open windows. In one of the panels, crows are shown flying in the sky.

Makoto is sitting at a wooden table. Both the table and the bench he’s sitting on have matching hand-carved decorations. He’s holding a teacup in his gloved right hand, and his left hand is partially hidden by the objects on the table. On top of the table is teapot and a plate of what seems to resemble real-life rice balls. His long bangs are covering his eyes, hiding most of his expression.

Makoto is wearing a fantasy version of traditional East Asian attire. Even if his outfit were drawn in full color, it would all be different shades of black and white. The collar of his outfit covers most of his neck and ends just below his chin. His long, white cape starts at the base of the collar and extends almost all the way to the ground. Since Makoto is sitting, a good portion of the cape is tucked away and to the side.

Dialog:
???: Makoto. Heap is in imminent danger of being overrun.
Makoto: I see.

Series cover for my Out of Memory webcomic. It features Kurosawa Makoto (黒澤誠, "sincere black marsh") / Zhen Xinyi (真心意, multiple meanings), one of the main protagonists in Out of Memory, facing off against one of the main antagonists, Baiqiao Yaoshe (白橋妖蛇, “demonic snake of the white bridge”). A warrior with reality-warping powers, Xinyi is a pacifist who sees violence as a last resort. Yao, on the other hand, is a charming and manipulative prince who can be ruthless towards his enemies. Xinyi and Yao have a complex relationship that departs from the standard hero - villain dynamic.

A fantastical circus with an anthropomorphic chameleon ringmaster welcoming other small animals to his carnival. Fireworks explode in the night air and everything is glowing and sparkling.

A little goblin girl runs gleefully away from two city guards. The city around them is moroccan in inspiration but fantastical too, with a castle in the distance.

A vampire lady looms over a young woman on a balcony who has cut her thumb on a rose thorn. Behind them, inside, is a ballroom where a lively masquerade is taking place. All are dressed in gilded age fashion.

A half-elf kneels in the right corner, reaching her hand up towards hanging lights that look like stars - her hair is dark blue with a lavender streak in gangs, it’s dark and she’s illuminated by beams of moonlight. The background is a house made of playing cards.

Three full body drawings of a blonde miqote, three bust drawings, and one smaller full body. She’s wearing different outfits. There is also one emerald carbuncle, one black cat, and one topaz carbuncle at her feet in two of the full body renderings.

Goth mpreg illustration art. Drawn by hand and using watercolour, markers, crayon, ink and metallic powder paint to bring this piece to life. This is Kieran and he is knocked up with a demon

My anti suicide campaign artwork that I did for May. Shaded in hues of yellow with ink tattoos drawn to show the way mental health can cloud our own image. I loved doing this one very much and it turned out gorgeous

Cute red haired 3D CGI witch in a lot of purple and pink themes. I normally design characters like this using Daz3d software. I love adding attitude and alpha decals that cause beautiful effects when fully rendered. Also reflection maps are a cool effect I love to use with lights that add that fun glow element and highlight the models with their mat and shine materials.

This is my pregnant graffitti punk dude illustration. I had some fun doing this one in coloyr pencil, ink and watercolour. I loved writing the notes, it adds a nice flair to the art

Laura Mellin @lauramellinatelier.bsky.social · 25/06/2025

Omg, so many amazing artists! Thank you so much for the share, and congratulations! ✨💜💜💜✨🥳 I’m still playing with my #pridemonth octopus tarot; I’m happy I have some sketches/drawings from it that work (others need a makeover)! 😊💜

A marker, ink and paint pen drawing of the tarot card The Chariot, represented as a blue octopus in a red and gold sari, standing in an Indian (Asian) covered chariot decorated in gold, red, light blue, and pink, with fine decoration on each colour in the same colour, but darker or lighter. The Chariot is led by two glowing fluorescent yellow Brahma cows, decorated in gold, with painted horns in pink and blue, necklaces of bells around their neck, and red and gold head coverings. The cows are seated, looking in different directions.
The number of the card (7) is drawn in pink Roman numerals at the top of the image, the title, The Chariot, is in blue hand-drawn letters on white at the bottom, surrounded by a border of gold and pink, with darker pink fine line decorations over the lighter pink.
In the background are green trees, grey mountains, and on the left, a Hindu temple decorated in pink, blue, and red paint. The sky is pale blue.
The octopus and their chariot represent Kinnar, the Indian third gender. Kinnar is not trans, or intersex, but a four thousand year old Indian third gender, finally recognized as an official gender (again, after British Colonial law outlawed them in 1860) by the India Supreme Court in April 2014. Their flag is horizontal light pink, white, narrow red, white, and pale blue.
(Note: The term Haji/Hadji is used by Western anthropologists, but it can be used as a slur, and I respect their choice of name: Kinnar.)
The Chariot represents forward movement, success, and willpower. Though the cows are seated, and looking in different directions, the driver of the chariot will always move forward, surrounded by the possessions and rights they have earned through their hard work.
(Note: there are no reins on the Brahma cows; they are sacred, and not used for work. The magic of the cows pulls The Chariot behind them, showing their approval of the occupant. This is my interpretation; the Rider-Waite cards used Sphinxes, which are also sacred.)

A marker, ink, and paint pen drawing of the tarot card The Heirophant, set up so it is always reversed (the title is upside down; if you flip it, the drawing is upside down).
The Heirophant is a blue octopus lounging on a throne, with a papal tiara tilted at an angle on their head, and holding a staff loosely, both of which are glowing fluorescent yellow. The staff is held sideways, and a flag in the Bisexual Pride colours (horizontal magenta pink, purple, blue) is attached below the crosspieces at the top.
The blue octopus is wearing purple goggles with gold studs and dark lenses, and has a little half-smile, hidden behind their raised left arm.
The throne is wood, with a blue and purple tapestry draped over the top, with purple tassels at the corners. There is a purple cushion on the seat.
The number of the card (5) is at the top of the throne in white Roman numerals. The title, The Heirophant, is at the bottom of the image, in blue lettering on white in a purple border, upside down.
The tarot card The Heirophant represents a love for rules, order and bending to authority. Reversed though, the card represents freedom or a rejection of stifling rules, and discarding outdated ideas.
My card is drawn in such a way that no matter how it is dealt, it is always reversed. I do not like stupid, outdated, or hateful, bigoted rules.

A marker, ink, and paint pen drawing of the tarot card The Sun, with a purple octopus on the back of a white horse, in a field of flourescent yellow sunflowers.
The sun is the Intersex Pride flag (a purple circle on a yellow ground).
The octopus is wearing brown gold-studded goggles with dark lenses, and a black Victorian riding hat, that has a light purple scarf tied in a huge bow around the back of the hat band, with the ends flowing in the wind. Their left front arm is petting the horse between the ears, while the rest of their visible arms are holding on to the back of the horse.
The legs of the horse are obscured by the title of the card - The Sun - hand lettered in purple on white, with a yellow border, set into a brick wall.
The number of the card (19) is drawn in purple Roman numerals on the top part of the Sun, above the purple circle.
The Sun is the card of optimism, success, accomplishment, and that things will get better. It is a card of joy and good feelings.

A marker, ink, and paint pen drawing of the tarot card The Devil.
There are two small octopuses in front, slap-fighting each other, because one of them is white and black, and one of them is black and white (this is a reference to a Star Trek: The Original Series episode). They are fighting because they have been told to fear difference. They both are wearing plain brown goggles, with the lenses lit like flames, yellow at the bottom, red at the top, obscuring their eyes.
Behind them is The Devil, a giant horned octopus in the heterosexual flag colours (black and white stripes)(I’m sorry, I didn’t come up with it), grinning with sharp pointed teeth, their eyes lit up like flames, their front arms raised in the air. Their horns are also striped black and white. Down the front on each stripe, is written (top to bottom):
FEAR
IGNORANCE
BIGOTRY
HATE
TRANSPHOBIA
ANGER
The ground is reddish-purple, and the background behind the Devil is lit like a fire is beyond the horizon, yellow at the base, to dark red at the top.
The card number (15) is in white at the top, between the Devil’s horns, and the card title The Devil, is in red on white between two black stripes at the bottom of the card.
The Devil is one of the only cards in the Rider-Waite deck that has no positive meanings, even reversed; the card means that you must recognize a mental attitude that is ultimately going to cause pain, and not be tempted to blame other people for things that are not their fault.
