Hey! I’ve added some of my recent pieces to Ko-fi - they’re now available as physical prints. If my art resonates with you, ordering a print is a wonderful way to support what I do 🖤 ko-fi.com/saturninecre... #ArtPrints #SupportArtists #DarkArt

That moment when the electricity stays on all day – after months of outages… I don’t even know how to act. And now I have no excuse to procrastinate.⚡😅

I haven’t been very active here lately – I’ve been deeply focused on personal projects. This spring is intense (in a good way), and I’m honestly racing to keep up. Apologies if I missed your posts – I barely scroll the feed these days. Still available in DMs and open for commissions 🙌

There has never been this kind of relief in simply surviving a winter... (If you’re Ukrainian, you know.) When every day without light and heat stretched into what felt like eternity, and you barely had the strength to get through the ordinary, let alone dream of anything beyond it.

Yuki onna is a fearful #yokai appearing on snowy winter nights. She glides across the snow with her blue lips and transparent skin. Beware as her icy gaze can be deadly and she will suck the life force out of you and leave you to die in the snow. #LegendaryWednesday #JapaneseFolklore 🎨Shigeru Mizuki

A woman leans forward with arms outstretched in the snow. Her face is as white as snow and her black hair flies about wildly.

Just a heads up. Things are a bit unpredictable where I am right now − my electricity and internet are very unstable, with near-total blackouts. I might be quiet or not post for a while. All current commissions will be finished, and I’ll reply to everyone as soon as I can.

I've just published a new article about Shogatsu, the New Year in Japan. I've included a selection of traditions for both before and during the new year celebrations, plenty of art, and even a couple of #yokai. I hope you enjoy it. 🎍 open.substack.com/pub/curiouso... #JapaneseFolklore #JapaneseArt

Also, congratulations everyone who made something this year. A comic, a song, a film, a novel, a painting, a poem, a short story, a sculpture, crochet, embroidery, whatever it is. In this era of slop and theft, if you *make* something you are a shining jewel and I am so grateful for you.

I’m sometimes asked why my commission slots are limited. I have a main job that’s also related to drawing, so most of my time and energy goes there. However, when I have space and an idea truly resonates with me, I’m happy to take on a few additional commission requests.

In Japanese mythology Fujin is a Shinto wind kami (god) usually portrayed as a fearsome-looking deity sitting on or walking over the clouds and carrying a sack containing the winds. This print depicts Fujin blowing the gust of wind from the huge sack on his back. #MythologyMonday #JapaneseFolklore

Japanese print by an unknown artist depicting the wind god in the sky with green skin holding a bag. Below on the ground people are struggling against the wind.

When you’re a black metalhead, gothic vintage witch, and terminally introverted – of course your art looks like a haunted monastery at dusk. And human interaction becomes a limited-edition event. lol
