Backgrounds and or large set pieces (vehicles for example) are priced on a play by play basis, deepening on level of detail. If you’re interested in a background or large set piece, share it with me and I’ll provide a quote.

And conditions of commission

- These commissions are not for commercial use. (Though I’m happy to discuss
selling the license).
- There will be a sketch to approve before painting that you can make up to 2
‘simple’ rounds of changes to, then there’ll be a final painted render which you
can make 1 round of simple changes to.
- Highly detailed features like tattoos, intricate armour, very detailed clothing, extra
limbs (excluding simple tails) ect, will cost extra.
- Medium to large animal companions will count as an extra
character, anything smaller and simpler than a rabbit (in ratio to a regular
human), assuming it’s low detail, can be done for free.

- Pornography (though I’ll happily do artistic nudity, intimacy, endearing low level smut, talk

In celebration of my drawing tablet malfunctioning for a whole month, I thought I'd finally get around to posting the first comic I drew and 'inked' (see 'drew over with a random fineliner') on paper. I've gotten more practise since then, so perhaps a retrial is in order. #OutliersComic

A four-panel comic strip set in an autumnal park, as four people walk through decked in warm clothing, carrying presents. Ahead Cat sings the song 'California Dreaming', her brother Malakhi trailing the pack, offering the call-and-response backing lyrics with slight modifications.
Cat: All the leaves are brown~
Mal: [Pointing at Rufus] All his clothes are brown!
Cat: And the sky is grey~
Mal: [Pointing at the monochrome Stoic] And this guy is greeeeeey!
Cat: I've been for a walk
Mal: [Punching the air on each syllable] I've! Been! For! A! Walk!
Cat: On a winter's day~
Mal: On Emm Winters' daaaaaay!!
At this last line the group arrive at a table where a scruffy lady Emm Winters is wearing party favours, sat behind a waffle-tower cake and small pile of aforementioned presents. Mal wraps his arms around her for this last line as she blows a party blower into the air.

Going back and archiving my nonsense, remembering when I used to have the energy and wherewithal to experiment more with styles. I thus stumbled upon this almost 6 year-old comic. Unlike most of my work at that time I still think this holds up, so you get to see it again. #OutliersComic

A black and yellow webcomic in the rubber-hose animation style of 'Bendy and the Ink Machine'. The title card reads "Why We Didn't Finish Bendy and the Ink Machine" below some dripping yellow and black goop. Four people are seen beneath the title: On the left the long-haired Emm lurches enthusiastically, wearing yellow overalls and a wide smile. Beside her the sharp-haired Malakhi holds his middle finger up, the bottom of frame cutting off his black cocktail dress and heels. Beside him the stone-masked Stoic gestures non-chalantly, his white tailed suit hidden from view. Finally on the right shrugs Rufus, with a big round beard, black suit and bow-tie.

These four character run down a corridor towards the camera, away from a creepy smiling silhouette. Emm runs nervously, arms wobbling in the air, behind the terrified Rufus. Beside him Stoic jogs with no apparent urgency and arms folded, whilst Malakhi strides forward looking back angrily.
Malakhi: Quick! Run from the demons!
Stoic: Or homunculi.
Malakhi: Whatever!

Having escaped the demons or homunculi or whatever, the group stop to set their next plans. Rufus, in the middle, is not keeping track as Malakhi abruptly thrusts an axe into his hand and Stoic stands before him with a syringe and beating heart.
Malakhi: Here's an axe! Attack the watermelons!
Rufus: The w-
Stoic: I require six inked hearts acquired using this syringe.
Rufus: Uh...

Still carrying the axe and syringe, the confused Rufus is now being handed yet more nonsense by Malakhi and Stoic:
Malakhi: Beardo! Quick! Use this shard of glass with a lightbulb on it. It's magic or something!
Stoic: Create a facsimile of pipework and cogs using only this ink tumor.
Malakhi: Don't forget the banjo!

Now loosely holding a plethora of junk in his arms, Rufus looks to his side to see Emm nervously leaning in and sticking a plunger to his head with a loud 'PLOP'

We zoom out to see everyone but Rufus and his pile of nonsense have left. He stands in the silence for a beat.

Rufus: Can somebody please explain literally anything?

They are a huge being, large enough to near fill the cover with their imposing girth, and they are a handsome one with all the charisma of the god Dionysus and the quiet personal amusement of the fey. They have grey skin that glitters with the fragmented hues of opals between patterns like a shark that are most apparent in their long ribbon like ear lobes. Their half lidded eyes are black with white irises and look down over a shallow wide nose with condensing humour at the vampire looking for them. They're not exactly a danity creature, at least a plump four times the width of the vampire, and even in the dark they glow from the gills slicing through their cheeks and neck. What's more they are not a modest dresser, in open flowing robes that themselves are transparent, and a silk scarf with jingling celestial jewellery. But still, in the starry night they remain unnoticed and amuse themselves with this fact by gently pushing the telescope that is being utilised to find them.

Another comic from the newsletter archives, another written whilst daydreaming at a wedding. This time Kay gets to flex his rugby skills, much to Jay's chagrin. #OutliersComic

Moments later we see Kay land with a look of determination as he just as deftly tosses the bouquet behind him, much to the more stilted surprise of Kay.
Back at the bar Elle leans back, slapping the counter in laughter, pulling Kay into her.
Kay: It was just a reflex.
Jay: *Sure*...

Another self-indulgent OC doodle-grid from a little while back, with prompts foraged from somewhere online I cannot trace back to. Either way my friends yelled at me for getting emotional at this one, so you have been warned.

"Jokes on you, I don't value myself" shows a slightly melancholy Malakhi looking upwards dismissively whilst scrunching his mouth, as if dismissing the prompt.
"You underestimate how much I value myself" shows Kay reaching an arm into Malakhi's box, putting a hand on his shoulder in support. Beneath his scraggly mop-top his expression seems more reassuring than Mal's.
"Unfortunately I was taught not to value myself" sees the construct January and human Emm, the latter smooshing her face into the former's head, both wild hairdos intertwining. Emm wraps her arms around Jan as they lean in with a content smile.

"Jokes on you, I don't forgive others" sees a trio of the masked Stoic, and construct siblings May and June, all glaring down judgementally at the viewer. Whatever you did I don't think you're getting away with it.
"You underestimate how much I forgive others" sees November reclining in their wheelchair, with a relaxed stare at the viewer, tilting to reach out a welcoming hand.
"Unfortunately, I was taught not to forgive others" sees the dramatically-lit Elle staring at the viewer with blank menace, holding aloft a small metal lighter illuminating the closer parts of her face.

A little detour into Avonvale for this newsletter comic, Remember when I made those? One of two little ideas I came up with whilst dissociating in a church, struggling to listen to some pre-wedding vow waffle. #Avonvale

A four-panel comic set in a bell tower. The first panel sees a robe-clad figure with a long snout and red scales tugging on a thick rope. A loud 'DONG' is elicited. Next up a second robe-clad figure with grassy green fur tugs a slightly smaller rope with their four arms. A moderate 'DING' is heard. Thirdly a non-robe-clad cloth golem Hercule tugs on a slender rope, eliciting a high-pitched 'Ching Ching'. We finally see the full scene of the two robed characters, holding ropes that reach up to the belfry, looking down at Hercule who holds the leg of Zig, a rope golem. Zig reaches up to the ceiling, ringing a small hand-bell which merrily chimes 'Ching Ching Ching'. They're joining in.

In an effort to catch you up with my OC daydreaming, here's a little insight into the backstory of the Calendars. A year and a smidge after a young January was found abandoned in a rainy graveyard, they get a little visitor. Sometimes the best thing to say is what you needed to hear. #October&Co

On a dark, rain-soaked evening, we see two characters on a bleak hostel bunk-bed. Hunched over the side of the lower, red-sheeted bunk is the gangly late-teen form of a frankensteinian character (later named January) old library book in-hand, a look of fed-up concentration on their face. Dangling above them is the slick, blue form of a Wyrm-like character, poking their nose and many arms into January’s business.
Wyrm: Cookbook, eh? You tryin’a get that canteen job?
Jan: Dunno. I’ve gotta do something, right?
Wyrm: Surprised you can read it.
Jan: I found one with a bunch of pictures, I’ll pick it up.
We see them from below, Jan still trying to concentrate on the pictures in their book as their companion looms over them.
Jan: Can’t cook worse than whatever the hostel serves…
Wyrm: Wanna bet? Remember your famous ‘holy’-moly sandwiches?
Jan: Dude, not my fault! How was I meant to know that machine had fire in it?
Wyrm: It was a toaster, and it didn’t before you got hold of it.

Into the room floats the no-nonsense eyes and shiny community-officer caps of a red beholder, calling decidedly toward the minimally perturbed duo.
Beholder: Hey! Kid!
Wyrm: Which one?
Beholder: The one we have to call ‘kid’ because they’re apparently incapable of picking a name.
Jan: What?
Beholder: Need your help with somethin’.
The beholder floats out into the equally drab corridor, January unenthusiastically plodding out behind them. In front are silhouetted two other mystery characters.
Jan: What do you want?
Beholder: We need help identifying someone. You two know each other?

In front of January floats the same Wendigo officer who found them abandoned and amnesiac in a graveyard thirteen months ago. More importantly though there stands beside them another frankenstein-esque character, much younger than themself, clad in the same brown robes as they were. The child looks up with scared, pleading, blue eyes cutting through rain-slick hair, coddled in blankets and towels. January stares down, equally wide-eyed unable to quite process what they’re seeing. The resemblance is obvious in the lack of a nose and ill-sutured skin patches, but like everything else January has no memory of them.

The small, sodden child silently, tentatively steps towards January, who stands tense and motionless. The two don’t break eye contact as January struggles to think in silence, hands gripped into fists. Before long though they lurch down and clutch the child in a tight, warm embrace, their fluffy bouffant of hair almost enveloping them. Head buried in their shoulder, Jan pours out the words that they wish they’d heard on the night of their own discovery.
Jan: It’s okay. It’s okay. It’s going to be alright. You’re not alone. It’s okay…

Still very behind on actually showing comics anywhere other than my website, so here's a 10-month old slice of domestic bliss with Jay & Kay. It also marks the early days of my recent struggles with colour and a not very successful attempt to control it. Cute though. #OutliersComic

In a dark room we see a very tired Jay wrapped in a purple blanked upon a cushion-strewn red sofa. They are illuminated by the light of the laptop they're dutifully tapping away at. Behind them approaches the blonde-haired Kay, clad in a pink nightgown.
Kay: Babe, come to bed. It's 2AM
Jay: There in a sec. I'm almost done.
Kay: You said that three hours ago.
Jay: Well... I'm still almost done.
Kay, knowing this is more than simply losing track of time, hitches up beside Jay on the sofa.
Kay: Okay, what's the problem?
Jay: It's just work. New client, stupid demands.
Kay: More specific. Please.
Jay: Well we need to overhaul their back-end, but it's not been updated since PHP 4.4, and there are deprecated functions everywhere, and the whole database was probably compromised by multi-source code-injection...
Kay: Slightly less specific, maybe.

Jay forlornly babbles, leaning forward and gesturing at their screen. Kay tried to comfort them with an arm around their shoulder.
Jay: ...and our *stupid* manager agreed to the project without asking any of the team if it was possible, and it's 3 months work *minimum* but she agreed the contract for 3 *weeks*, and we can't replace the whole boilerplate in that time, at best patch it, but it's more security vulnerability than it is code, but if the site dies after we've touched it *we're* the ones up the shitter-
Kay: Jay, you're spiralling. Deep breaths. Short sentences.
Jay spirals further, grappling with their laptop and it's power cord, seemingly oblivious to Kay's attempts to calm them.
Jay: But *listen*, we're already in trouble from the cache breach on the last job and if we lost this contract we're gonna *go under*, and I can't get a new job because the market fucking *sucks* right now, it's all tech-bros and *AI*, and I don't know what I'm gonna do if I can't provide for us, and *you're* gonna have to go back to your *parents*, and *I'm* gonna-

Kay pulls his arms in pulling the now shaking Jay closer to him. His other hand gently guides their chin into a soft kiss. Before long Jay begins to relax and deflate. Smoke rises from their head and the kiss continues. Kay quietly closes the screen of the laptop without looking as the two share a moment. Eventually the kiss is broken and a now dizzy, but smiling Jay queries their smiling boyfriend.
Jay: Oh, hey hun.
Kay: Hey babe.
Jay: What's going on?
Kay: Nothing. Just had to turn you off and on again.

They're not exactly a danity creature, at least a plump four times the width of the vampire, and even in the dark they glow from the gills slicing through their cheeks and neck. What's more they are not a modest dresser, in open flowing robes that themselves are transparent, and a silk scarf with jingling celestial jewellery. But still, in the starry night they remain unnoticed and amuse themselves with this fact by gently pushing the telescope that is being utilised to find them.

It's been quite some time since I last posted, keeping busy with commissions and daydreaming about OCs. So to represent some of the latter before I advertise the former, here's a little alignment chart I stole from Tumblr and populated with a handful of my idiots. Oh, and I discovered hatching.

A purple-toned 3-by-3 grid of scribbly character portraits are labelled in the columns Lawful, Neutral and Chaotic, and the rows Tired, Stupid and Bastard.
In the top left "Lawful Tired" square the wolf-woman Luna half-heartedly gestures towards a bundle of business reports in her hand. To her right under "Neutral Tired" is Kay, a man leaning against the left wall of the square whilst staring into the distance beside him. To his right the "Chaotic Tired" frankenstein-construct January, splattered in batter and wielding a similarly spattered spoon, smiles at the viewer.
Their sibling February begins the second row under "Lawful Stupid", grinning widely whilst holding up their business card between two fingers, unaware that it's upside-down. Beside them is minotaur Tori representing "Neutral Stupid" staring up with mild concern at the ceiling. Beside him dangles Emm, a messy-haired woman gripping the "Chaotic Stupid" square's frame, holding herself upside-down.
The third row sees (at least the outfit of) invisible man Griff, leaning out of his square to glare incredulously at his label of "Lawful Bastard". To his right the "Neutral Bastard" square sees Malakhi, a young man leaning on the base of the grid, snarling at the viewer and raising both of his middle fingers in a way that would be menacing if he weren't so squidgy. Finally the bottom right "Chaotic Bastard" square contains a whole lot of fire, from the centre of which lunges a maniacally smiling construct November, clearly relishing the crackling consequences of their arson actions.

Dusk sinks under a snow covered treeline, splitting its the final golden rays, as warm as the embers of a forest fire, over the ice crusted foliage into a grassy clearing beyond. The shadows are already pale grey before the pines and the purple of the sky is deepening. In this veiling hour a centaur, with a travelling cloak around their shoulders, makes their way towards the woods. They are dark before the falling light they stride towards and pause before they go on their way, leaning on their staff and looking back into the clearing while their tail flicks. Whatever they look out to, they are not duly bothered by it.

This is a pair of character from Maiga Doocy’s ‘Sorcery and Small Magics’

Leovander Loveage, though bias narrator and world of trouble that he is, described Sebastian Grimm as a man that lived up to his name, with all the bearing of a thundercloud and pale grey hair, even at his 21 years, to match. The golden light he looks into does little to warm the focus of his hard features, nor soften his posture, made to look all the more unyielding by the lines of his black coat. Perfect pleats and smooth plains leading down his back.

Nothing about said stance invites anyone upon it, and yet, only goaded by walls of any kind, Leovander is on him. The contrast between them is stark; Leo’s unrestrained mahogany hair falls around his face and pools in the popped collar of his open green coat. A cluster of silver ornamentation, signature to scandalous musician the world over, adorn his ear and hands. mismatched on every finger but for the third on both hands.

Whatever is so occupying Grimm, Leo is ready to weigh in, eager for the game. One arm is hooked over Grimm’s shoulder, falling down his back with an easy temper, while his other arm secures the man into further confidence, linking over the second shoulder as his hand is raised into the feathered back of Grimm’s otherwise neatly combed hair, to guard a whisper. Whatever Leo is divulging, the curl of his lip is already smug in the certainty that the problem before them is no match for his self assured cunning, and however uninviting Grimm’s demeanour is, he shows no inclination not to hear the troublemaker out.
