Here's a question: if we build more offshore wind farms in/near MPAs, will the prohibition of bottom-trawling that is necessary within OWFs provide a long-term environmental benefit enough to outweigh the short-term environmental damage caused by OWF construction?

Gov., does have to act. Once marine biologies are destroyed, very difficult to replace them. We are in constant retreat environmentally & commercial pressure is constant. We have to ensure marine resources are renewable, or there is no sense in trying to save us from global warming.

What’s the point in Defra when MPs with no environmental expertise are aware MPAs should be fully protected from bottom trawling. Defra has access to Marine Stewardship Council, Southampton National Oceanographic centre & other experts so why ignore them?
