Is there anything on Bluesky that ISN'T politics?...where is the ART?. I realise the world is a bit of a nightmare thanks to right wing, greedy, egotisical, narcissistic, physcopathic politicians BUT I need some BEAUTY in my life too. 🥺🥹😭

#Blueskyart #womenartists #womensart #michealhardingoils So I have finished my most recent commission of artist Helen Bryant and her dogs, waiting for it to dry enough to varnish now then it will off to its new home, she loves it thankfully. Oil on canvas 30cms x 40cms.

Helen Bryant (artist) with henna red hair piled up on her head, dressed in a blue shirt with matching blue skirt, dark leggings with fern leaves on, sitting on a yellow sofa with her Labrador Margot sitting upright. Behind Helen is one of her wonderful ladies head paintings. Next to her right arm is a standard lamp and a doorway into her hallway. Below her sitting infront of the sofa is her black Spaniel with a white fleck on her chest, she's sitting on a red faded patterned carpet to her left is a small brown tiled table with a piece of paper and Helen's glasses. It's oil on canvas 30cms x 40cms and commissioned by Helen.

#blueskyart So I went to Wales and met a online artist I follow on fab and instagram called Stephen Pugh who runs a little shop selling his art. I commissioned him to paint this for me and very pleased with it too. He's a lovely guy with a joyous shop in Haverfordwest, Pembs, Wales.

#birdoftheday #bluesky #eastsussexgulls So I have taken to feeding my bird friend Sid the gull every morning as we are fishing our sea's to death and their cries for food are so pitiful it breaks my heart. He seems to know who I am and waits for me to come back. He's not dependant on me thankfully.

#blueskyart #womensart #michaelhardingoilpaints So having a break from this has really helped. Darkened Helen's skin, arm, hands, put the stripes in her skirt, added flyaway hairs today. A few more details here and there not alot and it will be finished!. Be glad to paint something different now!.

Helen Bryant artist with her hair piled up with a bow, chin supported with her hand revealing a tattooed arm, her other hand on her Labrador Margots chest, Helen is wearing a blue buttoned shirt on a colourful sofa with one of her paintings behind her. This is a mixture of 4 photographs of Helen and her dogs at home commissioned by her.

The same picture as the first but showing her skirt which I added the stripes to today.

Dottie her black Spaniel with a white chest which sits below the sofa her and Margot are sitting on

The full photograph of the whole p painting. Unfortunately I can6seem to capture the true colours of this painting which is really frustrating.

A painting of a dear friend for his 40th birthday. He has slightly sunburnt skin, dark eyes and hair wearing a Fred Perry type sports top which is green and black with a white stripe. He has an eyebrow piercing and is smiling. A light blue background.

#Blueskyart #artexhibition #seaside So dropped off 2 paintings for a summer Exhibition this morning and then walked back home along the seafront. The sea was a lovely turquoise blue today, the wind had cooled it down too to a tolerable 27°. Met a locely guy feeding the local pigeons too.

Poster for a Summer Exhibition 2 of my paintings will be in along with 23 other local artists here in Hastings on the East Coast of the Uk

Stoney beach at the front of the photograph with a person sitting on the stones looking out to a turquoise sea with a red and yellow flag to his left blowing in the wind. This was on my walk along the seafront home after dropping off my artwork. It was cooler today thankfully.

#Blueskyart #portraiture #oilportraits #womenartists So had a lovely visit from Helen Bryant artist to see my commissioned portrait of her and her two dogs, she is more than happy with the process so far. We spent the morning popping into 3 galleries and talking art, bliss.

Helen Bryant artist sitting on a chair next to my easel infront of the commissioned portrait of her and her dogs I'm painting at the moment.

The portrait of Helen and Margot the Labrador on the sofa at her house, behind her is one of Helen's paintings of lots of different ladies heads, there are cushions and a quilt behind them both. Infront of the sofa is a small table with paper and glasses, between the table on to the left of the picture is Dotty Helen's Spaniel sitting on a patterned red carpet, to the left and behind Dottie is the hallway banister with items of clothing on and 2 white wood panels going up the stairs.

#Blueskyart #womensart #urbanart #oilpaint #michealhardingoils So I have put the underpainting of acrylic on my new urban beauty series painting. One layer of oil on the sky too. It's from my reference photos. I love dance music and this little cloud reminded me of Little Fluffy Clouds by The Orb

A Work in Progress, the first layer is in acrylic as the under painting, I have put the first layer of oil on the sky only so far. Is the cloud lonely or is it independant?, just loved how it was the only cloud in a sea of blue sky with just the top of the 5 storey Victorian seaside guest houses. This will be a part of my Urban Beauty series of my local town here on the East Sussex coast in the UK.

Form telling me my painting has a chance of getting into the prestigious Mall Gallery in London, it has been chosen out of thousands of entrants, so fingers crossed it will get into the exhibition.

Pip the Jack Russel on a striped blanket on the beach. She has a red collar on looking into the distance surrounded by beach grass. Sand stretches behind her to the sea, partial cliff to the left and a sharp rock to the right of the cliff juts out of the sea, fluffy clouds move along the horizon.

The beginnings of a view from a beech hedge over looking a playing field to a singular tree in the middle flanked by trees and shrubs around the field. It's pretty rough so far as just the beginning. It's done in Unison and Sennelier soft pastels and very messy.

#Blueskyart so just finished my secret painting which I can't show until it's gifted in March. Will have a go at my new posca pens for fun next I think. Today we had long awaited sunshine so went for a walk.

A beautiful sunny day here. Our shi Glenn beach leading to a calm still channel, a few fluffy Simpson clouds and a fabulous blue sky.

A ferris wheel, town houses with the West Hill behind overlooking the almost empty boating lake, you can see the ferris wheel reflection in the water left from the last bout of rain.

A herring gull standing in the rain water in the empty boating lake.

George's Street in the old fishing town of Hastings, shops on either side, people walking up the centre and a beautiful clear blue sky.

A father/grandad with his grandson by the water with rocks and shrubbery in the background in a bokeh style. Both are wearing hats and grey t-shirts smiling at the camera, the grandfather has a white beard and glasses on. This is acrylic paint on high quality watercolour paper

#Blueskyart so it went from beautiful clear blue skies to snow!. It didn't last long here on the East Coast of Sussex but quite a rarity to settle so close to the sea. It was back to clear blue after 3hrs!. Happy New Year all, quite a start here in the UK.

The view from my bedroom window at 8am this morning, actual settled snow a rarity here on the East Sussex coast in the UK. As you can see a good couple of inches on the car bonnets and roofs of the buildings, it didn't last long though.

The same scene out of my bedroom window but 2hrs later, skies clearing, snow melting and our blue skies returning but still cold.

A view from the end of my road a minute from my front door is Christ Church Church steeple soaring into a cloudless blue sky

The high street just around the corner from my road looking down to the sea, a small lonely cloud in the sky and the sun beating down melting any remaining snow. My favourite veg shop on the left!.

Calm sea considering its December, shingle beach and warm sun here in sunny East Sussex.

Wooden posts aged with constant battering of the sea and salty air, calm and sunny today.
