There is a near-immaculate 1993 Mazda 121 in burgundy on FB Marketplace for just under $4k. Manual with only 175000km on it. Absolute death trap by modern standards but such a cool-looking car and from a car company that used to take such marvellously absurd risks.

Buying a sub-$500 single dose coffee grinder in 2026 is wild. Either used ones are $5 cheaper than new ones (such as the DF64 etc.) or the reviews of lesser-known brands are *clearly* sponsored even when not marked as such, so it's impossible to know if they're any good or not.

More cheeringly there is a reasonably clean - although the clear coat has seen better days - E90 335i for $7500. That's the business if it isn't spraying oil even when it's sitting in the garage switched off. Although the injectors are buggered, which is not cheap...

This lines up with many of the problems with these agents. Consent is vague and unexplained. A user needs a step-by-step guide otherwise the stupid bot goes tonto because it doesn’t have any proper constraints.

As far as I can tell, the cheapest EV in the US is the Nissan Leaf at A$45k-ish. The cheapest here is the BYD Atto 1 which is $19,990 drive away for the moment (usually $23,990). Not as good a car or as stacked with gear, but I say this to make the point we’re going alright.

Twitching. There's a 2003 Boxster S with 170,000km on it that needs a new clutch for $11k. Clutch and IMS bearing is around ~$5k to fix. What a bargain (if it isn't otherwise trashed, looks ok in the photos). Cheapest manual I've seen that hadn't been on fire was a 1998 for $25k.
