Do you mean the exercise variety? Adults moderate their approach to exercise +experience, wise heads and all that) and don't go off too fast and don't vary pace so drastically to cause stitches or cramping. It can still happen but we're much more of the tortoise than the hare.

I am glad you have mentioned pre-testing particularly when you are new to a class/group understanding strengths and weaknesses through topic pre-testing is a useful tool to becoming adept at Adaptive teaching.
