A lovely long walk up and round Dow Crag in the lake district, near Coniston, imposing and magnificent in black and white yesterday

Walking in the lakes yesterday. A sense of relaxation I don't seem to find in the hum drum of daily life. Loughrigg was busy, towns were quiet. Everyone was out walking.

#5 from @trythisteaching.bsky.social blog on behaviour management and setting up a positive environment in the classroom is movement and positioning around the classroom to effectively deal with early signs of low level behaviour and 'interact' with you students.

#4 From @trythisteaching.bsky.social blog post on positive behaviour management. Silence is golden. Use silent tasks to set the tone, or finish with intent. Silent tasks differ in many subjects but often involve retrieval or reading.

#1 Not sure if Ian White is on Bluesky, but created a series of these posters based on his excellent thread on re-framing behaviour. There are several more in the pipeline. Had significant disagreement with some of the points on X but this is the whole point. These techniques are a toolkit.

#3 In @trythisteaching.bsky.social blog post of reframing and managing positive behaviour is teachers' awareness of their body language and tone of voice when interacting with students.

I am looking at increasing my positive behaviour/reframing behaviour toolkit. Recently shared on that other platform 4 posters on reframing behaviour by Ian White. Poster 5 features our very own @trythisteaching.bsky.social 👉 Number 2 of his tips: condemn the action, not the individual 👈

Looking for people's go to routines to ensure positive behaviour in the classroom, have you got one that never alters, is relentless and used no matter the situation or context? Love to hear your thoughts.
