Characteristically perceptive comment from @geoffmulgan.bsky.social. "Cognitive vulnerability" seems an important issue. I don't think (and am not sure Geoff thinks) that people are becoming stupider; rather, today's cultural environment creates more vulnerabilities.

No country for the future: the age breakdown of the Saxony vote. Similar patterns can be observed in federal polls. The oldest voter cohort is the least eager to vote for the notably euphemistically named “Alternative for Germany,” but even among this group, support for the far right remains high.
