BREAKING: Zelenskyy is blasting Trump’s Russian diesel deal as an “investment in war” after another deadly Russian attack on Ukrainian civilians. Meanwhile, Canada just signed a 100-year partnership with Ukraine. Promises and alliances still mean something in this country. 🇨🇦🇺🇦

Based on The Economist's estimate of a GOP artificial gain of 6.5 seats from gerrymandering, the Democrats will need to flip 10 seats to win a majority. They would only have had to flip 3 if there was no gerrymandering of house districts. Corruption of the midterms is already baked in. From

Do Albertans think they’re the only ones feeling the cost of living? All over the world gas prices, grocery prices, heating prices have all gone up. It infuriates me Albertans are so inward looking they can’t see these things are happening to everyone; to them it’s just they are being hard done to.

There are less than 10-15% pro separatists in Quebec and Alberta, they will never be able to split from Canada because it isn’t their land to take, we live on treaty land, and these pricks from the US want us broken up in pieces to take Canada. Stand united and protect our country together 🟥🍁🟥

There is no neutral. There is a vote to stay in Canada or allowing the separatists to win. Every single one of them will vote. Polling and media coverage don't matter. The only thing that matters is your vote. STAY in Canada. NO to the nine. #Oct19 #VOTE #ABreferendum #ABpoli #canpoli #cdnpoli

This is cool— apparently @adamtranter.bsky.social transformed a street parking space into a parklet (mini park/public space), but the municipality removed it because it wasn’t a mother vehicle. So he did this. Nice job. And dumb interpretation by city hall. Via Marco Te BrommelStroet on LinkedIn.
Pictures of a mini trucka-like vehicle with a little park/park bench on the flatbed in the back. So essentially a mini park on top of a vehicle.

Seriously, get gambling, legal or otherwise, the phuck out of sports. Now, before it’s too late. It’s entirely possible gambling could be the undoing of sports as we know them. There are too many bad actors, including people and athletes involved in and around sports, who could ruin it for everyone.

Democrats keep trying to guilt-trip Canadians into backing down. Fuck off. Deal with your own mess. This is your problem to solve, not ours. www.cbc.ca/news/politic...
Gallego, the Arizona senator, said the two sides need to figure out how to mutually step down from the current trade tensions, adding that it appeared both Trump and Prime Minister Mark Carney were playing politics when trade talks fell apart last month.
"I'm not asking Mr. Carney to just bend at the knee and give in, but this is the role of diplomacy," Gallego said. "You figure out how to actually start bringing the heat down little by little to a point where you can get to the negotiation table."
Likewise, Maine's governor, Mills, said there need to be "serious negotiations on both sides," and she hopes a third party can sit down with the two countries and make it clear a tariff fight damages both of them.
"The retaliatory tariffs, I can understand why that's happening," Mills said. "I can't say it's not damaging our economy, though."

The constant adaptation to counterterrorism efforts erodes the rule of law and public freedoms in Western countries
Since 2001, Western countries, led by the United States, have steadily strengthened their counterterrorism powers through criminal and legal measures, prison regimes and mass surveillance tools. These measures have come at the cost of a steady erosion of fundamental rights.
