I don't deny that dogs can sometimes be quite lovely but what I will say is I don't trust their opinions. If a cat recommended me an album it had bought, I'd totally check it out. If a dog did the same, I'd promise to listen to the album, out of politeness, with no intention of actually doing so

One of the most charming things to me about Star Trek TOS is how the theme song sounds like it was composed by someone on a deadline w/ zero briefing as to genre. Is it a space adventure? Probably! But also a sitcom...? Possibly, better safe than sorry. A game show...? *Elijah Wood voice* MAYbe!

Jeff Vandermeer was right about this book. Really well done, with layers of irony, a feeling of mounting doom, and some nice weird-around-the-edges touches. Existential class-conscious horror that absolutely nails the "Gothic" part.

I contend that people would be more afraid of it if long covid symptoms presented uniformly. of the irl people I KNOW OF covid gave 1 cardiac issues, 1 got MCAS, 1 Bell’s palsy, 1 lost sense of smell, 1 has bilateral tremors, & 1 became narcoleptic. no fucking thanks.
