Super excited to see this story out! Shout out to @mathilda95.bsky.social for her PhD work. I was lucky to have her and @sascha-kuhn.bsky.social as my bachelor's thesis supervisors. They helped me find and grow my excitement for science! Thanks to André @nadlerlab.bsky.social for having me in the lab!

Study today in @natcellbio.nature.com by @mathilda95.bsky.social @nadlerlab.bsky.social @mpi-cbg.de, Honigmann group @biotec-tud.bsky.social & @carldmodes.bsky.social reveals that clathrin-mediated endocytosis sorts proteins but not lipids. Lipids use different routes. www.mpi-cbg.de/news-outreac...

UPDATE!: I am absolutely stoked that the second paper of my PhD is now out in @natcellbio.nature.com :D. We combined lipid imaging, STED microscopy, and mathematical modelling in a super cool team effort to quantify lipid partitioning inside clathrin-coated pits. www.nature.com/articles/s41....

This story in @natcellbio.nature.com by the amazing @mathilda95.bsky.social is the final flourish in a series of papers over the last year during which we reported a solution to the lipid imaging problem in biology. Stay tuned for the next chapters!

Lipids build the membranes of all cells, but identifying their precise functions is extremely challenging. Here’s our attempt to change that: How to find and understand lipid-protein interactions, by Katelyn Cook & company. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...

It’s incredibly hard to study lipids in biological membranes on the nanoscale. You need near-perfect information on both membrane ultrastructure and lipid density. Lipid-CLEM, now out in @natcellbio.nature.com brought to you by @mathilda95.bsky.social changes that: www.nature.com/articles/s41...

I am extremely excited that my first first-author paper from my PhD is finally out 😆!! We developed a new CLEM workflow to measure lipid densities at the nanoscale. So if you are into lipids and super-resolution imaging approaches, this one is for you: www.nature.com/articles/s41...

This work was such a great team effort, and it would not have been possible without @nadlerlab.bsky.social limitless support; our fantastic collaborators from the Avinoam lab: Ori, Suman, and Nadav; and all other co-authors: Weihua, Kristin, Gunar, @ykswld.bsky.social , Falk, and Michaela.
