A wild thing is having a memory *that* something happened but no memory *of* the happening itself. I can remember describing it shortly after, some of the details I mentioned, metaphors I employed. I can remember remembering, but it's been gone ever since. Like a hole in the brain.

All of this. I also want to add that, in my research, I found that a lot of “inconsistencies” in a victim’s story actually came from gender bias affecting investigators’ record keeping and interview methods.

I struggle a little with being like… do what you want, write about what you want, you don’t need a credential, etc. But on the other hand, learning a bit about the ins and outs of a thing, e.g. music, including technique, history, theory, can really make the writing more robust?

Gentle reminder that dissonance != atonality. The very idea of dissonance grew out of the tonal tradition and tends to imply (although doesn’t strictly require) a tonal center.
