The 2017 Spider-Man show is super underrated. I get it, the art doesn’t have shading and people don’t like that the show is chock full of super scientists and spider people. But where else can you see a top tier animated adaptation of Superior Spider-Man? That show felt made for Otto fans. 😍

Seriously, the show even adapts Anna Maria Marconi!! 🤩 As an unashamed fan of Dan Slott’s writing, there’s little more that I could ask for from a show. 🤔 Admittedly, I didn’t love all the Venom stuff near the end. 🤷 Venom storylines are kinda played out.

If you told me that a Spidey cartoon would get me emotional, I would've had no idea which one it possibly could've been. I certainly wouldn't have guessed 2017... but I also wasn't expecting to feel so attached to this Otto Octavius! Faults and all (and there are some big ones), I loved this arc.

The initial moment of transfer where Otto puts his mind into Peter's body and Peter's mind into the Living Brain.

Miles Morales Spider-Man stopping the Superior Spider-Man from killing a supervillian.

Anna Maria Marconi telling Otto (currently in Peter's body) that despite never feeling like he had friends before, he has friends now.

Otto admitting failure in attempting to save the only friends he's ever know and giving Spider-Man's body back to Peter Parker, resulting in his mind returning to his own comatose body.
