Are cats the loss leaders for expensive cat food and veterinary care? That would track based on my experience. (Cat is born in someone’s crawl space but has weird allergies and of course can’t survive on basic kibble.)

Someone posted recently that, with 8 billion people on the earth, were each responsible for 1/8 billionth of the job of making the world better. Which I think illustrates how important each of us choosing to be a little more considerate can be. I know the math doesn’t really work, but in principle.

Here's a lovely pic of some of my hand-sewn, fabric art Jeremy Creatures. The ground is green fur and the background is a beautiful galaxy print fabric. One creature is a gray rock with two different sizes black eyes and a little frown. There's a tall ghost with about 35 black eyes of different sizes and a wide mouth full of sharp teeth. There's another spirit with many eyes, twirly head wisps, and an open mouth with sharp teeth. There's also a ghost with a tiny face, with two different sized eyes and a little frown. There's a black ghost with a gray moon face, their body covered with hand-embroidered stars and planets of various sizes and colors. There's a frowny white ghost featuring embroidered red flowers. There's a super tiny frowny white ghost, and a super tiny black ghost with four eyes and embroidered stars.

After a couple scary dog incidents (including getting bitten by an overly excited pit bull in the neighborhood) I’m more than a little canine-shy. But I met a very sweet doggo on my walk today, and I don’t even mind that she slobbered on my sweats a little.

I shouldn’t need applause for doing a basic adult task like scheduling a mammogram, but I do not like phone calls or boob sandwiches and yet I did the thing, so please applaud. *Consider this your reminder to be brave and do the basic maintenance tasks your body needs. Stick around for me.

I finished reading The Dragon Has Some Complaints by @wiswell.bsky.social, and my big takeaway from it is that hope is one of the most powerful tools we have against oppression.Believing things can get better, and working toward that, is such an audacious choice.
