also non-Spiderman related....did Odyssey lost IMAX screens yesterday? unsure why its Tuesday number decreased from Monday. The hold against Spidey was good but I was assuming it would be doing sub-40% moving forward...could be looking at another mid 40s drop which could stall it from beating TDK

we’re obsessed because it’s been ignored for decades in America specifically. if it was apart of a normal energy policy, we’d be less annoying. also, the risk of mass destruction is quite literally higher from climate change than from nuclear power. and you don’t resolve the former without nuclear.

I have no idea why anti-nuclear progressive think that the pro-nuclear ones think that we just want nuclear-only or nuclear-dominant. Solar and wind are essential and should be the dominant energy policy. But you cannot achieve a true green future without nuclear.

I saw it as the same thing hes been doing since literally Memento in having his protagonist be the creator of their own destruction (i.e. Leonard kills his wife, Hugh Jackman kills himself rededately, Oppie creates a end of world device, etc.). which 25+ years into his career is getting stale.

the point is that if Nolan is going to deviate from text to tell the moral he wants, the better way is show that is not by equating the Sea People to be Greek soldiers. It is more impactful and connected to make the Sea People be the wrath of those screwed over by the Greeks violating social codes.

I think this is an overlooked horrible decision by Nolan. If you want to show that violating hospitality leads to a downfall of civilization, the better way to show that is the Sea People were the people displaced by the Greek soldiers from war vs. Greek soldiers returning from war.

6. Nolan tries to pack a lot of Incidents and Big Ideas into this film, but they do not seem to me to hang together coherently on the level of his own plot and the movie's constructed system of values. Instead, it's foisting a didactic point about Our Times onto the plot without integrating it.
