iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

If you're wondering what the opposite end of the spectrum is from yellow paint, I think it's this

a screenshot of Dragon Quest 2 where an NPC shopkeeper is saying
"for it is a substance made of wind and water and it drifts aloft until it lands on the third floor in the North Tower of the Dragon's Horn."

Dragon Quest 2 is the first turn based RPG where I've found the "Defend" (Called "Parry" here) a regularly useful tactical option. It's common to fight four enemies. If my caster attempts to contribute DPS in the first few founds, they can get focused down and killed.

Finally party wiped for the first time... i dunno 18? hours into Dragon Quest 2. The way your party is assembled over time in this game means your party members are not the same level as each other, and it creates some interesting dynamics.

this game is great. I beat 3 bosses and then got schooled by a child in a village.

whoever is responsible for all these "chronological watch order" lists needs to be stopped. They fundamentally do not understand storytelling.

Dragon Quest 2 kicks ass. I didn't know where to go after getting the cloak of wind, so I just explored around places I hadn't been. Found a place I could use it, and then GOT A BOAT!! Sailed the boat the Alefgard. I use the map that was included in the game manual a lot. It's really handy.

I got in some trouble with this one. Originally I wasn't going to draw the buster sword at all. then I started and realized it needed to be the darkest thing on the page, and I already do NOT have a strategy for dealing with the value of this turtleneck. But I'm gonna keep trying different things

I think a lot of people have a bias against random encounters based on "immersion breaking" which causes them to disregard some the elegant abstraction that random encounters provide. Especially when the player goal is to go on a dangerous journey.

Dragon Quest II (technically I am playing Dragon Warrior II) continues to be great. Just got the Cloak of Wind. Did need to briefly check a guide to figure out that tower. Exploration and combat are both pretty fun in this. Very solid iteration on Dragon Quest (1). I recommend it.

Preemptive sorry for making it too serious but- The fact that investment is not pivoting to more "feminine" perceived genres shows that money flow is not objective, and when a company makes an evil choice that is also similarly avoidable Anyway gunna play this, pls make more fashion games!

Political winds do not only flow from voters to politicians, they go in reverse as well. Democrats running ads like these signal to the general public and their voter base that this issue now has support by both parties, and that hating trans people is publicly acceptable. They do harm to us.

"Don't give archconservative MAGA cranks control of historically large and important media conglomerates" seems like a very low bar, but leading Democrats somehow fail to hit even that. If Democratic leadership wants to understand why it's unpopular with its own base, look no further than this.
