Handcoded in HTML, CSS and Javascript and running locally, Scrubjay is usable for research, collection, game-building, website construction or simply to hold little fragments of digital things, in the same way that you hold a pebble in your palm on a walk.

Coyotes are having a cultural moment. We named our newsroom after them, and artist @wolfchirp.bsky.social wrote a book, "Trickster at the End of a World", about being obsessed with them. So naturally, @cecilialei.bsky.social had to chat with Helen about it. www.coyotemedia.org/helen-shewol...

here’s a new browser-based digital poem I wrote about #mudlarking — 2 sets of words slowly fill the screen. 1 contains names of stuff we find. the other contains some (though certainly not all) of the words we say when we find stuff. the whole program is only 2k: taper.badquar.to/16/findings....

We use the amazing Bowie and Prince portraits created by @wolfchirp.bsky.social and lay that on top of a video synthesizer program and/or backgrounds I create in Adobe Animate. I'd rather spend hours (days) learning how to create cool backgrounds than take a creepy shortcut that makes me feel gross
