A good fresh Star Trek take on those fake isekai title jokes
A tumblr screenshot showing a post and two reblog responses, reading:
1. "star trek would be the ideal fictional universe to get trapped in because you'd explain your situation and they'd be like yeah makes sense. no further questions. fortunately we can use the mysterious warp signature emitting from this system's icy moon to counterface with the solar radiation and slingshot you back home"
2. "I'm from a universe where your world is all a work of fiction." Benjamin Sisko, nodding. "That happened to me once."
3. "I Got Isekaid Into The Star Trek Universe And They Quickly Understood What Was Happening"

How did you get tricked into going to Lincoln Square Apple Fest from the suburbs? How were you not aware that Apple Fest is a bog standard city street fest on four small blocks, with expected attendance coming from only directly adjacent neighborhoods?

I think it was widely accepted to be a suicide, BUT, I have a distinct memory which I am finding impossible to corroborate. I think I have heard it referred to as a Lifeguard, or a Lifeguard Special maybe.

Looking at Team Fortress’s many Halloween events and Dota’s extremely popular Diretide, Valve seems to have finally picked up on its audience’s demands and made a game that’s 100% spooky season all year round

on forums before emote reactions, if somebody said something really funny you kinda had to riff on their post in order to express that you thought it was funny or it'd be considered low effort. it would result in whole pages of nothing but good jokes, all one-upping the previous. FATALITY
A tweet from Joyce Carol Oates: overall takeaway from the Curtis Yarvin profile is that there must be millions of smart-aleck show-offy kids who annoy their teachers and go on to annoy other adults through their lives with their “contrarian” pose that hardens to a carapace over their faces; until, as adults, they still harbor a delusion that, if there is a king, or a fuhrer, he’d be impressed with the guys motor mouth and appoint him to his cabinet rather than deleting him with a negligent swipe of his wrist as Stalin did routinely.

Since WWE's trying to exploit PAC's death, it's time to talk about this: Remember how PAC suddenly had visa issues when AEW started? That's because, when the AEW trademarks were filed, WWE called USCIS to claim he walked out on his visa. After leaving him alone for a year and giving him his release.

Privacy laws need to strongly enforce the idea that we own our personal data, and it could start here. Essentially, let me download everything you have on me so I can run my own life.

You could point any LLM provider—or a local one!—at your stored context and prompt and get comparable outputs, tool calls, whatever, cut Google and Meta out of the picture completely as service providers/data brokers. Obviously they wouldn’t like that, so they want to own the data and the solution.

Ross @wochie.bsky.social · 29/09/2026
Imagine you had a whole profile of personal context that you could store and control local to you—maybe stuff that approximates what Meta already has, but they hold onto, because it’s specific to their own systems. But if LLM capabilities converge and the product is more fungible—

Ross @wochie.bsky.social · 29/09/2026
They want your data because high quality context is the only way to make consumer LLM products like Muse any good. They want blanket permission to know everything about you in perpetuity, because without that, Muse will be costly on inference, hallucinate, make mistakes, and feel worse to use.

This is 100% intentional, I can’t get around it; they’ve even used the design cue that Claude uses in so many of its generated frontends, a serif font with contrasting italicization.

Kohler, please hire me to do some branding work.
An Instagram reel ad for a Kohler x Studio McGee collaborative project, with the text: “Introducing the Claude Collection.” A woman in a smooth brown dress stands at the sink of a bathroom, with many earth tones present throughout.Another image in the ad, which is a slideshow: a low, backless toilet against brown floral wallpaper. “Claude Smart Toilet”

Pac had the most beautiful finisher in wrestling, and for a long time he had a look & vibe I would describe as "underwear goblin." Though he was as good as literally any leading-man wrestler on earth, he excelled as a character actor in the ring. He was a fixture of my wrestling life. I'll miss him.

The GOP cut funding to the IRS because *audits work* and they fundamentally don't believe rich people should have to play by the rules.
Line chart titled "Revenue per audit," subtitled "In-person audits, 2010-2014." It plots average revenue and average cost per audit by taxpayer income percentile, poorer to richer, from the 0–5th percentile to the top 0.1%. Source: Boning et al. 2023, "A Welfare Analysis of Tax Audits Across the Income Distribution."

Across the bottom half of the income distribution, revenue and cost track closely, both around $3,000–$6,000 per audit. Above the median, revenue pulls ahead of cost: about $10,000 vs. $5,000 near the 90th percentile, and about $17,000 vs. $8,000 at the 95th–99th. At the top, revenue jumps to about $31,000 for the 99–99.9th percentile and about $90,000 for the top 0.1%.
