This seems like a good change. Reducing the number of worthless, warped foils in play boosters is a substantial improvement for limited play and increasing the EV for boosters via low probability hits makes singles cheaper

Fascinating update from l0gr1thm1k, who curates the Data Generated Vintage cube. Huge fall off of people actively updating their cubes on Cube Cobra. Magic will outlive Cube? #mtgcube

This list looks a little more "normal" to me. The quantity of data I filter on and use to make these cubes has been declining over the last few years as fewer folks are updating vintage cubes. I usually only sample cubes taht have been updated in the last 90 days. A few years ago I was gitting in the 40-50 range of cubes updated whenever I sampled, whoih made the sample fairly robuts. This quarter there were only 9 cubes updated, making choices in the cube highly idiosyncratic. Sampling those

A custom mtg card. A black uncommon enchantment costing 2B, with the following rules text:
Whenever a creature you control dies, choose one. If the creature was named Festering Newt, choose any number instead —

This book was fantastic and everyone should read it. A war novel with a solid helping of cosmic horror when an Angel falls into a WWI battleground. The “one long sentence” gimmick is well managed and doesn’t detract from the experience

Interesting alternate history of Indian Independence. I really enjoyed the character work and the rebel organizing, but I really wanted more alternate history world building. Mostly the time shift seemed like a device to avoid the complications of the actual decolonization process

Sadly, I’ve been at the hospital for 6 weeks now. Isolated, had a bone marrow transplant, fighting. It hasn’t gone well, but the fight is still on. I have outs and I’m not conceding. That people still remember me warms my heart. Much love, all I can say is I’ll give it my all. ❤️💋🤘 everyone

Jammed some Invasion block with the disciple this weekend. Lesson learnt: Cavern Harpy is an absolutely busted Magic card. Paying 1 life to dodge removal, then picking up and recasting a battlemage? Incredible. The 7 year old got his revenge doing serious damage with a Zombie Boa in our next game.

In the early oughts there was a fantastic webcomic called Spiders by Patrick Sean Farley with a similar premise to OBH: www.electricsheepcomix.com/spiders/3.5/.... The politics of that has shifted so much over 20 years, but even the politics of AI in OBH feel dated after 2 years. Things move fast
