In 2017, I created Moxtober, a Magic version of Inktober. Create anything MTG-related (art, writing, etc) to fit daily prompts. Most popular w/ Magic design hobbyists! This is Year 10 of Moxtober. I'm 100% hands-off & the community still keeps it alive. 😭 Here's the 2026 prompt list they created.

Moxtober 2026 prompts: 1 - witches, 2 - double, 3 - toil, 4 - trouble, 5 - fire, 6 - boil, 7 - cauldron, 8 - bubble, 9 - blood, 10 - bold, 11 - resolute, 12 - poison, 13 - toad, 14 - eye, 15 - newt, 16 - knock, 17 - wood, 18 - beware, 19 - wing, 20 - something, 21 - wicked, 22 - share, 23 - sting, 24 - salt, 25 - maw, 26 - laugh, 27 - pain, 28 - secret, 29 - midnight, 30 - hemlock, 31 - thane

I genuinely have done a double-take multiple times when scrolling through my social media feed and seeing the Magic card Arcane Amphisbaena flash; thinking for a second I was seeing Ekans from the Pokemon TCG set Fossil.

Thinking about how much impact the word "booster" has had on all future CCGs/TCGs creating their product lineups and how you name them: - Booster Pack - Booster Box What other word could have been used instead?

Jace really "yes, but"-ed Tam instead of "yes, and"-ing.

I would love if someone threw a Magic party where there's a replica of Halo Fountain present. Whoever is throwing that party invites 15 of their friends, and then there'd be two full pods for drafting. ✨

If Avacyn's Memorial had flavor text that told us about an inscription it has, what would it say?

How the newest Pocket set, Team Rocket's Ambition, handled hyping the return of this no-name character from an old PKMN TCG card was perfect. As in, there was no fanfare. A marketing spotlight on the character's reappearance would have been like explaining a joke. Thx for the nostalgic discovery 🥰

I had never played The Stanley Parable before. During my first playthrough, I noticed it was Monday night going into Tuesday night and that there was a related achievement. So I left my game on all night and all day. Achievement unlocked!

Steam achievement called Commitment that says "Play The Stanly Parable for the entire duration of a Tuesday. 3.1% of players have this achievement."

Got back this week from my 10-day trip in Denmark. This was my 1st time out of the country. The occasion: attending a wedding. My favorite part was the transit system and its ease of use ☺️ I wish I had more time, so I could explore a castle while there. 🏰

Hella funny how Magic keeps mirroring the Marvel MCU, including the release date of these larger plot points. - Bolas/Thanos during War of the Spark / Avengers: Infinity War, - Jace/"The Architect"/Iron Man/Dr. Doom during Reality Fracture / Avengers: Doomsday.

What's your fave browser search engine that isn't Google? I've been trying out DuckDuckGo for the past month or so. Search results seem weaker, but at least I have better control in keeping AI out of my search activity. It'd be even better to use a search engine without any AI features at all.

When naming items in your fictional universe, when it can be either "Hammer of Smiles" or "Smiles Hammer," what convention do you go for? Do you go either way at this junction but then look to other variables for the deciding factor (number of syllables, clarity of meaning, etc)?

My partner & I just finished watching all 4 seasons of X-Men: Evolution. Nostalgic & lovely. The overall arcs are messily executed. Scott & Shadowcat are the jerkiest. Nightcrawler, Rogue, & Wolverine get top marks. Toad is best Brotherhood bro. A shame they didn't do more w/ Jubilee.

Is it frowned upon for pro artists that do not currently work for Magic to apply for a Portfolio Review at Gen Con? Perhaps yes due to other, better channels for art pros? Even then, the pictured posts feel patronizing. Imagery of kids coloring in a picture & "aspiring artist" + art student image 🤔

Been doing a lot of rules text lately for custom cards for the 26-year-old DBZ CCG, and I've learned to match the style of the cards. For example: - DBZ CCG: "cannot" - MTG: "can't" - DBZ CCG: "place" - MTG: "put" DBZ CCG's style is more verbose, but the right thing to do is to preserve that.
