I assume it’s a foil full art basic? It’s unclear if the change to removing common and uncommon foils will also mean no foil basics in regular boosters, but a full art foil basic is usually worth a few bucks

The argument is that the billionaire tax is a one time tax that doesn’t set up the sustainable funding the organization needs. Also, it’s vague because it’s a ballot initiative not a law. Also, Newsom is opposed and a major ally. But who really knows? Lots of infighting in Cali state politics

I know if varies by location and printer, and it’s definitely improved. Eliminating C/U foils is just a cost saving measure with the god pack headline obscuring that, but it’s a small price to pay to keep pack costs the same and avoid the current shortages

Maybe, although one of his previous updates was about how he didn’t like how many UB cards were showing up in the algorithm. Mostly I think it’s that Hobbit didn’t provide heavy hitters beyond Bilbo and Reality fracture is too new to show up in the data.

Oh, definitely. But his selection criteria hasn’t really changed for this project since he was seeing 40-50 active cubes, so the drop off is pretty surprising!

Possibly! I’d imagine pauper/peasant cubes are the most straightforward gateway cube, but Arena and MTGO focus so much attention on Vintage cube that I’m surprised there aren’t more (or at least the same) number of people tinkering there as there’s been in the past.

Fascinating update from l0gr1thm1k, who curates the Data Generated Vintage cube. Huge fall off of people actively updating their cubes on Cube Cobra. Magic will outlive Cube? #mtgcube

This list looks a little more "normal" to me. The quantity of data I filter on and use to make these cubes has been declining over the last few years as fewer folks are updating vintage cubes. I usually only sample cubes taht have been updated in the last 90 days. A few years ago I was gitting in the 40-50 range of cubes updated whenever I sampled, whoih made the sample fairly robuts. This quarter there were only 9 cubes updated, making choices in the cube highly idiosyncratic. Sampling those

It sounds like there were special collation considerations with the pairs where they had to be printed on their own sheet. The numbering at the bottom is used for QC so you could imagine why printing a sheet of white cards that’s missing number 3 or 12 would be an issue
